The Department of Philosophy in the Faculty of Education celebrates the International Day of Philosophy under the title Philosophy and the concept of peace and peaceful coexistence

Under the auspices of Prof. Dr. Hazem Rashed, Dean of the Faculty of Education, and Prof. Dr. Alaa El Din Abdel Halim Mohamed Farag, Vice Dean for Community Service and Environmental Development, and chaired by Prof. Dr. Mohamed Sayed Hassan, Chairman of the Department Council, and coordinated and organized by Dr. Engy Hamdy, assistant professor in the department, and prepared by Dr. Fatima Bakr, a teacher in the department, the Department of Philosophy and Sociology at the Faculty organized a celebration of the International Day of Philosophy entitled "Philosophy and the Concept of Peace and Peaceful Coexistence" within the Department of Philosophy in the Faculties of Education, Arts and Girls at the university.

         
   
         

In a meaningful scientific and cultural atmosphere, a group of thinkers at the universities of Ain Shams, Cairo, Menoufia, Beni Suef, Minya, and the Higher Institute of Social Work in Cairo presented solid papers that included critical visions of peace theories and the cognitive foundations on which the concept of peace is based, the relationship of peace with information technology, the controversy of war and peace, The relationship of peace with art, peace in the projects of modern Arab thought, the relationship of peace with the system of values, peace in Western projects. The symposium concluded with several recommendations, including but not limited to:

         
   
         

- The necessity of consolidating the values ​​of peace, coexistence, and understanding between peoples and civilizations, exchanging the experiences of international experiences in combating extremism, opening broader horizons for research and academic cooperation in this field, the need for dialogue with the other, rejecting all forms of intolerance, establishing peace on measurable empirical foundations, and overcoming the idealistic vision that could not be achieved. Imposing peace and preventing wars are many important focal points that call for rooting the concept of peace and peaceful coexistence with others in our educational institutions.

   
   

As well as ensuring the holding of many seminars and courses of all types, direct or indirect, as well as through social media, to spread awareness among young people of the dangers of extremism, dismantle its system of ideas, and develop the values ​​of peace and coexistence with the other.

At the end of the celebration, many faculty staff who performed the festive activities in an atmosphere of joy and happiness were honored, and everyone emphasized the pioneering role of the Faculty and the university in achieving its mission of preserving the identity of society and rooting the spirit of peace and peaceful coexistence.
