Under the auspices of Prof. Mahmoud El-Meteini, President of Ain Shams University, and Prof. Mohamed Ayman Saleh, Vice President for Postgraduate Studies and Research, and Prof. Hossam Tantawi, Acting Dean of the Faculty of Archeology, and under the supervision of Prof. Ahmed Al-Shawki, Vice Dean for Postgraduate Studies and Research and Supervisor of the Community Service Affairs and Environmental Development Sector, started yesterday two workshops within the series of workshops organized by the University’s Postgraduate Studies and Research Sector in cooperation with Elsevier and the Egyptian Knowledge Bank on international scientific publishing, scheduled for November 27 and 28, 2022. At the headquarters of the Faculty of Archeology, which was attended by faculty members, the assistant staff, and postgraduate students from the Faculty of Archeology and the Faculty of Arts and Girls.
Prof. Hossam Tantawy, Acting Dean and Vice Dean for Education and Student Affairs, presented the first session of the first day of the two workshops with an introduction on the importance of international publishing and how to benefit from the training workshops dedicated to this, appreciating the initiative of the university and the graduate studies sector in organizing and holding such courses, and welcomed the lecturers with a brief About the CV.
The workshop was attended by Eng. Khaled Shaalan from the Elsevier Foundation, and Dr. Aya Khalil is the ambassador of the research seminars for the Elseiver Publishing House, who provided information on how to access the Scopus and Sciences direct sites, and how to find reliable scientific journals. Engineer Khaled Shaalan also introduced methods of documentation and research through various research sites, evaluations of scientific journals and arbitration, and how to enter scientific journals into the Scopus base and obtaining scientific grants, as he explained the difference between the pre-print article and the working paper, and the advantages and disadvantages of this method of publishing the article.
