Within the framework of the cultural season of the Department of History at the Faculty of Education and in support of the societal role of art and its association with history, the Faculty of Education, Ain Shams University, organized today a symposium entitled Art and History "The Crying Laughing Series", under the auspices of Prof. Dr. Mahmoud El-Meteini, President of Ain Shams University, Prof. Dr. Abdel-Fattah Saoud, Deputy University President for Education and Student Affairs, Prof. Dr. Ghada Farouk, Vice President for Community Service and Environmental Development, Prof. Dr. Hazem Rashed, Dean of the Faculty of Education, Ain Shams, Prof. Dr. Alaa El Din Abdel Halim Mohamed Farag, Vice Dean for Community Service and Environmental Development, and Prof. Dr. Safaa Shehata, Dean The Faculty for Education and Student Affairs, under the supervision and coordination of Prof. Dr. Jamal Shakra, and Prof. Dr. Hala Khalaf, Chairman of the Faculty History Department.
The symposium was in the presence of the stars and makers of the dramatic work, which includes the great professor, director Muhammad Fadel, the great writer Muhammad Al-Ghaiti, the great artist Firdous Abdel Hamid, the producer Shadi Abu Shadi, the producer of the dramatic work, the laughing crying, and a large group of stars and makers of the series. The symposium was opened by Prof. Dr. Hala Khalaf by emphasizing the connection of the message of art with history through the life of the media and the connection of fairy tales to this context as a kind of important folk art in Egyptian society. Prof. Dr. Aladdin Abdel Halim, Vice Dean for Community Service and Environmental Development, emphasized the importance of art as a meaningful message that influences societal behavior in all its forms and thus has a significant impact on consolidating the spirit of belonging and citizenship to society, especially youth.
Prof. Dr. Jamal Shakra stressed the importance of art as one of the types of soft power affecting society, its orientations, and its close connection with history. His Excellency thanked and greeted all the guests for answering the invitation and meeting with students for the importance of communication between generations and meaningful dialogue.
The director, Mohamed Fadel, emphasized that real drama is what imposes discussion and societal dialogue. He also pointed out the importance of Egyptian history and presenting it in different forms, whether it is a drama, song, or poem, confirming that art has an enlightening role, and not only for the purpose of entertainment, but rather it is a message that must be employed in a positive way that is beneficial and beneficial to society.
The artist, Ferdous Abdel Hamid, also expressed her happiness at being invited to the Faculty of Education and stressed that society is in need of special education at this difficult time. She added that the Egyptian people are a people with a history, and no matter how negative influences it passed through, its ethics, history, and the origins of its people erase the impact of all that and overcome it, and the positive legacies that indicate the nobility and origins of this great people continue, and she stressed the importance of the spirit of dialogue, discussion, and dialogue based on science and knowledge without pressure. She explained the importance of historical works in refining the personality of Egyptian youth.
In the speech delivered by the great journalist and writer, Mr. Muhammad Al-Ghaiti, he explained that this meeting can be considered a seminar and not just a symposium, as he indicated the necessity of making a seminar during which dialogues and discussions related to historical works take place due to the importance of that his historical works turned into radio and television dramas, and he added that historical drama has a great impact on the minds of people, which requires the writer to be accurate in handling it in accordance with the historical view and in an appropriate dramatic framework, with the assertion that drama cannot be considered a historical document, and the great writer Muhammad Al-Ghaiti confirmed He is the first to publish a printed copy in Egypt of the memoirs of the great artist Naguib Al-Rihani, and he confirmed his great happiness in its release in the form of a dramatic work by a great director and a distinguished team. This series dealt with an important period in the history of Egypt through the personality of this great artist.
The producer of the dramatic work, Mr. Shadi Abu Shadi, confirmed that the production company was cooperating greatly with the work team, which represents the owners of long experience and the vitality of young people in a distinct mixture for the work to come out in an honorable and distinguished manner, and he also thanked and greatly appreciated the great director Muhammad Fadel, who, with his great experience, was able to lead the work to safety until he went out to the screen in an honorable way, with the cooperation of all the action heroes.
At the end of the meeting, the guests of the heroes and makers of the drama "The Crying Laughter" were honored, and memorial group photos were taken.
