The Education and Student Council at Ain Shams University discusses the university's preparations for the first semester exams and honors members of the Supreme Committee to supervise student union elections

The Education and Student Affairs Sector Council, chaired by Prof. Dr. Abdel-Fattah Saoud, Vice President for Sector Affairs, held his session in the presence of the Vice-Deans of the University Faculties for Education and Student Affairs, members of the Standing Committee and members from abroad.

During the session, Prof. Dr. Abdel Fattah Saoud, congratulations to each Prof. Dr. Hossam Tantawi for the issuance of the decision appointing him as the dean of the Faculty of Archeology. He also congratulated Prof. Dr. Muhammad Ragaa Al-Satohi for renewing his deanship of the Faculty of Science, wishing them continued success.

         
   
         

The session witnessed the honoring of Counselor Muhammad Abdullah Al-Hofy, Professor at the Faculty of Agriculture, during his presidency of the Food Security and Safety Committee at the university, which was established by Prof. Dr. Abdel-Fattah Saoud, immediately after assuming the position of Vice President for Education and Student Affairs, appreciating his role in implementing the plan for the education sector and students, which began 4 years ago to change the entire food system within the university in terms of quality, types, and quantities, as well as activating the barcode system to ensure that meals reach those who deserve it, in addition to upgrading restaurants and creating open-air restaurants and other developments in this important file, which came in the priorities of the education sector and students headed by Prof. Dr. Abdul Fattah Saoud.

At the forefront of the topics discussed by the council were the preparations of the university, the education sector, and students for the first semester exams. Where reassured Prof. Dr. Abdel-Fattah Saoud, from the Vice Deans for Education and Student Affairs, on the readiness of the faculties, schedules, and controls. And he stressed the application of precautionary measures and distance to ensure the safety of the examination process, and also directed the necessity of adopting the question bank system as a reference for setting examinations in coordination with the Measurement and Evaluation Unit in the Education Development Department.

         
   
         

During the fourth session of the Council in the current academic year, the members of the Supreme Committee for Supervising Student Union Elections were honored. Where Prof. Dr. Abdel Fattah Saoud, Vice President for Education and Student Affairs, Chairman of the Higher Committee for Supervising Elections, and Chairman of the Sector Affairs Council, honored each of Prof. Dr. Walaa Anis, Vice Dean of the Faculty of Specific Education for Education and Student Affairs, Prof. Dr. Tamer Abdel Moneim Rady, professor at the Faculty of Commerce and the committee's liaison officer, Mrs. Reham Al-Atifi, who is in charge of the Acting Assistant Secretary of the Education and Student Affairs Sector, Mr. Ibrahim Saeed, Acting Director General of the Office of the Vice President for Education and Student Affairs, and a member of the Supreme Committee for Supervision and Follow-up of Elections at the Republic Level, Mr. Mohamed Abdel-Malik, Director General of Legal Affairs, and students, Mustafa Mahmoud Al-Sayed, Fourth Division, at the Faculty of Law, and the student, Director of Ismail Bakr, Third Division, at the Faculty of Commerce.

As Prof. Dr. Abdel-Fattah Saoud, thanks to all the members of the sub-committees supervising the elections of student unions within each faculty, and honored Mr. Muhammad Al-Sharqawi, Director General of the General Administration of Youth Welfare at the university, and Mr. Yahya Hassan, Director of the Families Department of the General Administration of Youth Welfare at the university.

Also, Prof. Dr. Abdel Fattah Saoud congratulated a family for Central Egypt and its leader, Dr. Hatem Rabei, for its students winning the majority of the seats in the faculty and university students’ unions, thanking Dr. Hatem Rabei for his efforts in the various activities of the university, and for his part, Dr. Hatem Rabei, the leader of the Family for Central Egypt, gave a speech in which he thanked the university administration Because of their complete impartiality and transparency in managing the electoral process.

         
   
         

In this context, Prof. Dr. Abdel-Fattah Saoud praised the students who came to run for the student union elections, and he attributed that to the fruits of what the university organized during the past year of camps to prepare student leaders, which provided everyone who participated in them with the opportunity to mingle with students from different universities. The training courses on leadership skills also contributed greatly to raising awareness and instilling the concepts and foundations of correct leadership, pointing out that during those camps a scientific strategy was implemented to break the psychological barrier of youth in participating in the elections.

He stressed that real institutional work based on a clear plan yields good and distinct results, noting the role of the simulation models that were organized over the past year.

Prof. Dr. Abdel Fattah Saoud indicated that Ain Shams University organized the largest training camp for student leaders in Hurghada that included 900 students from all faculties, which helped in the advancement of candidates at the highest level of culture, competence, and awareness to run the electoral marathon, expressing his pride in choosing Ain Shams University as the headquarters of the Supreme Committee of the Ministry Higher education and scientific research to manage student elections at the level of the Republic this year.

During his conversation with the students, Mohamed Reda, President of the University Students Union, and the student Maryam Khaled, Vice President of the Union, Prof. Dr. Abdel-Fattah Saoud expanded the base of participation and practice of student activities and spread among young people, and explained that the directive to join the president and vice-president of the union to the membership of the Education and Student Council sector committee by the exchange as an observer in the second largest committee at the level of Ain Shams University after the university council, reflects the university's appreciation for their role in being a link between the senior management of the sector and all university students.

The committee also reviewed the efforts currently being made to speed up the launch of the biometric data center, to be the first at the level of Egyptian universities.
