The conclusion of the activities of the conference "Entrepreneurship and Innovation from the Perspective of the Fourth Generation of Industry" in cooperation between the Innovation and Entrepreneurship Center at Ain Shams University and the Technical University of Berlin

The activities of the first conference, "Entrepreneurship and Innovation from the Perspective of the Fourth Generation of Industry", organized by the Innovation and Entrepreneurship Center at Ain Shams University and the Entrepreneurship Center at the Technical University of Berlin, were concluded under the auspices of Prof. Dr. Mahmoud El-Meteini, President of Ain Shams University, and Prof. Dr. Geraldine Rauch.

The conference came within the activities of the ISI4Egypt project between the Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship at Ain Shams University, the Innovation Center at the Technical University of Berlin, and industry partners in both countries.

In the presence of Prof. Dr. Abdel Fattah Saoud, Vice President for Education and Student Affairs, Prof. Dr. Ayman Saleh, Vice President for Graduate Studies and Research, Dr. Eid Al-Rajhi (Advisor to the Minister of Environment), Prof. Dr. Diaa Khalil, General Supervisor of the Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship, Prof. Dr. Amr Shaath, Professor at the Faculty of Engineering, prof. Dr. Mohamed El Behairy, Director of the Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship at Ain Shams University, Prof. Dr. Mohamed El-Sheikh, Director of the Technology Transfer Unit at the Innovation Center at Ain Shams University, and Dr. Weam Mahmoud, Deputy Director of the Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship at Ain Shams University.

More than 100 participants, including students, graduates, researchers, and faculty staff from Ain Shams University and some other universities, participated in the conference. 88 students and faculty staff from the faculties of computers, engineering, dentistry, agriculture, nursing, science, Al-sun, and education attended the workshops. Commerce, Girls, Pharmacy.

The activities of the first day of the conference, which was held on Saturday and Sunday, December 10 and 11, 2022, witnessed an opening session to welcome the participants. As delivered by Prof. Dr. Diaa Khalil, an overview of the Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship at Ain Shams University, Prof. Dr. Jan Kratzer, a profile of the Innovation Center at the Technical University of Berlin, and a profile of the program project “Innovative solutions for the fourth generation of industry in Egypt” ISI4Egypt by Paul Wolf.

A discussion session entitled "The Fourth Generation of Industry: Innovation and Sustainable Development" was held, in which the future of the fourth generation of industry in Egypt was discussed, and awareness was raised about the relationship between innovation and the fourth generation of industry, in addition to the role played by the government, the private sector and educational institutions in adopting this concept and what are the opportunities and challenges facing the fourth generation of industry in Egypt.

Prof. Dr. Diaa Khalil, Director of the Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship, Prof. Dr. Jan Kratzer, Director and Founder of the Innovation Center at the Technical University of Berlin, Prof. Dr. Hisham Hadara, President of Si-Ware Systems, Prof. Dr. Dora Fayani, Founder and Head of the Knowledge Economy Foundation, Prof. Dr. Mohamed El Behairy, Executive Director of the Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship, participated in the session.

The activities also included an exhibition for startups and a session by the project partners. The ISI4Egypt project includes five partners from Egypt and Germany, and each of them gave a short presentation on the establishment of his company, its specialization, and the services it provides.

The activities of the first day also included a symposium entitled "Industries of the Future" delivered by Engineer Haitham Afifi, "Director of Quality Operations and Continuous Improvement from Schneider Electric", and the research session, which was divided into two parts:

The exhibition, where submissions were opened for participation with Abstract and Poster for research in the field of "the fourth generation of industry", 30 participants submitted to this competition, and the best 15 participants (from the faculties of Computers and Information, Engineering, Science, Medicine, Nursing and Pharmacy) were selected to participate in the conference was held in a closed session, where each participant displayed a poster for his idea, and the arbitration committee, consisting of Prof. Dr. Diaa Khalil, Prof. Dr. Jan Kratzer, Prof. Dr. Nadia Hamdy, Prof. Dr. Muhammad Al-Sheikh by choosing the best 4 ideas, and they are:

Each of the four winners will have the opportunity to travel to attend the training camp that will be held in August 2023 in Germany.

The other section included a discussion session entitled "The Role of Educational Institutions and Industry in the Fourth Generation of Industry", in the presence of representatives from government institutions and industry, and in the presence of the poster winners. The session was moderated by Prof. Dr. Muhammad Al-Buhairi (Executive Director of the Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship), and a number of representatives of educational institutions and industry representatives.

As for the activities of the second day, they included an introductory lecture about the University of Berlin delivered by Engy Naifeh (Head of the Cairo Liaison Office of the Technical University of Berlin) and an introductory lecture on the concept of the fourth generation of industry delivered by Prof. Dr. Mohamed El Behairy, Executive Director of the Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship at Ain Shams University, in addition to holding four workshops:
