Yesterday morning Prof. Dr. Mahmoud El-Meteini, President of Ain Shams University, and Ambassador Moushira Khattab, President of the National Council for Human Rights, signed a cooperation protocol, in which the two parties agreed to work jointly to achieve the following axes: joint cooperation in contributing to the implementation of the national strategy for rights, the most important of which is raising awareness among university youth of human rights, preparing and implementing joint programs It aims to build new cadres, and a new generation of university graduates who are qualified and believe in the culture of promoting and respecting human rights, and work to achieve them, preparing specialists in the field of human rights, exchanging experts and specialists from members of the National Council for Human Rights and academics at Ain Shams University in implementing the relevant activities listed in the two parties, also adopt and implement a program of visits for experts and members of both parties, and field study visits for university students, which contribute to achieving the desired goals of both parties.
The signing of the protocol came in the presence of Deputy Tariq Radwan, Chairman of the Human Rights Committee in the House of Representatives, and he participated in the preparation of the protocol Prof. Dr. Shahira Samir, Executive Director of the International Relations and Academic Cooperation Sector, Chairman of the Committee from Ain Shams University, Prof. Dr. Sahar Musa Suleiman, Dean of the Faculty of Nursing, Ain Shams University, Prof. Dr. Jihan Rajab, Advisor to the Vice President for Community Service and Environmental Development, Prof. Dr. Ahmed Dehom, Vice Dean of the Faculty of Law for Community Service and Environmental Development, Prof. Dr. Samia Abdo, Deputy Executive Director of University Hospitals, Prof. Dr. Sherawat Al-Ahmadi, Director of the Expatriates Department in the International Cooperation Sector, Dr. Noura Issa Zakaria, a teacher at the Department of Public Law, Faculty of Law, Ain Shams University.
On the part of the National Council for Human Rights, Mrs. Samira Luka Daniel, Head of Dialogue Division at the Coptic Evangelical Organization for Social Services, member of the National Council for Human Rights, Mr. Abdel-Gawad Ahmed, a lawyer in cassation and member of the National Council for Human Rights.
It is worth noting that the National Council for Human Rights is an independent national institution, established in 2004 pursuant to Law No. 94 of 2003 headed by Dr. Boutros Boutros-Ghali - former Secretary-General of the United Nations, in accordance with the recommendation issued by the United Nations Conference on Human Rights in Vienna in 1993, regarding the establishment of National institutions to assist governments with opinion and advice in advancing the situation of human rights in a comprehensive concept.
And a nod to the educational role of Ain Shams University in building the Egyptian person educationally and educationally, and the role of the National Council for Human Rights in promoting and respecting human rights, and within a joint framework to follow up and implement the outputs of the National Human Rights Strategy, and a desire to enhance cooperation between the two institutions in spreading awareness of human rights.
