On 9/1/2023, the Council of the Faculty of Archeology at Ain Shams University held its fourteenth monthly meeting in the Faculty Council Hall, headed by Prof. Dr. Hossam Tantawi, Dean of the Faculty, the membership of Mr. Professor, Vice Dean for Postgraduate Studies, heads of scientific departments, and members of the Council.
Prof. Dr. Hossam Tantawy started the meeting, congratulated the members on the new year and the start of the exams at the end of the first semester, wishing success to all, then he moved on to discussing the topics of the meeting, including approving the minutes of the previous session and appointing 2 teachers in the departments of ancient Egyptian antiquities and Greek and Roman antiquities after obtaining their doctorate degrees.
With regard to the education and student affairs sector, the Council approved the distribution of courses for the second semester, and the formation of committees of examiners and scorers for the first semester exams for the academic year 2022/2023.
By moving the discussions to the sectors of postgraduate studies and community service, Prof. Dr. Ahmed Al-Shawky, Vice Dean for Postgraduate Studies, discussed several topics in the session, most notably: the registrations of some students for the master’s and doctoral degrees, the distribution of courses for the second semester, and the approval of the formation of committees of correctors and examiners for postgraduate studies for the first semester.
Dr. Rania Zaidan, Director of the Quality Unit at the Faculty, reviewed mechanisms for dealing with deficits or surpluses in faculty staff and teaching assistants.
