For the first time, the use of "artificial intelligence" in diagnosis and new treatments for lung tumors

In the presence of experts in the treatment of cancerous tumors from 75 countries around the world, and with the participation of 12 international associations specializing in the treatment of oncology, the Arab Republic of Egypt hosted, over two days, the fifteenth international conference on breast and gynecological tumors and immunotherapy for tumors, and the third international conference on lung tumors, which was described it is the largest gathering in the region for oncology professors and experts.

The conference was held under the auspices of the Ministry of Health and Population, the Ministry of Higher Education, and Ain Shams University, and in the presence of Dr. Khaled Abdel Ghaffar, Minister of Health and Population, Dr. Awad Tag El-Din, Advisor to the President of the Republic for Public Health and Prevention, Dr. American Society of Oncology Sandra Swain, President of the European Society of Gynecological Oncology Nicole Coonsin, and President of the European Society of Radiotherapy Philip Portman.

Dr. Hisham El-Ghazaly, President of the International Society of Oncology, Director of the Research Center in Ain Shams Medicine, and Secretary General of the Conference stated that this year's conference received more than 200 research papers and discussed 250 scientific lectures on new targeted therapies in lung tumors and details of the treatment plan, according to the tumor response rates to preoperative treatment, which increases the recovery rates to more than 90%. The conference also includes 15 workshops on 15 specializations in the field of gynecological tumor treatment and surgery. Al-Ghazali added that during the conference, the establishment of an African alliance among African associations and bodies working in the field of oncology, representing about 15 African countries in the field of diagnosis and treatment of tumors and bioinformatics, was announced. The conference version was also issued in French, for the first time, to target Francophone countries in cooperation with scientists from France, the Maghreb and Lebanon.

A professor of oncology at the Faculty of Medicine at Ain Shams University announced the establishment of an alliance between cancer biobanks in Egypt, and Al-Ghazali stressed that this biobank is a very important idea and a great information treasure for the country, through which we can collect the largest amount of samples for tissues, cells and vital fluids from the Egyptian patient, and knowledge of the genetic defect through which medicines specific to the Egyptian patient can be discovered apart from other medicines, which were placed for the foreign patient after case studies on him, indicating that this bank includes 5 types of cancerous tumors, namely: breast, lung, liver, colon, and the bladder.

In the field of lung cancer, Al-Ghazali announced the launch of new targeted drugs that help eliminate mutation-positive lung cancer. He also presents for the first time the use of artificial intelligence in breast surgeries and drug discovery with careful analysis of bioinformatics data. In the field of lung cancer, new drugs will be introduced and aimed at eliminating it. The use of preoperative targeted immunotherapies in lung cancer cases will also be announced.

And Dr. Sandra Sobin, president of the American Society of Oncology, said that great cure rates can be reached in patients with metastatic breast tumors among the category, among which the spread is simple.

The conference activities included holding an important dialogue session under the slogan "Health Care Development, Integration, Roadmap and Sustainable Solutions for Cancer Control".

It dealt with government efforts aimed at establishing and building a strong, effective, and sustainable healthcare system, including ensuring the best service and healthcare for oncology patients.

At the end of the conference sessions, the Scientific Committee of the 15th International Conference on Breast Cancer and Women recommended the presence of a group of international and Egyptian oncology professors to support early detection and treatment of tumors by completing the process of educating young doctors, building medical staff, introducing modern technology and artificial intelligence, exchanging experiences, and uniting all international, governmental and private organizations to achieve the highest rates of cure.
