On Monday, February 13, the German Philipp Marburg University delegation visited the Information Network Center at Ain Shams University, during the activities of the second day of its visit to Ain Shams University, which comes within the framework of the joint cooperation agreement between the University's Faculty of Archeology and Philipp Marburg University in Germany.
The delegation was received by Dr. Islam Hijazi, Director of the Center for Networks and Information Technology. The delegation included Professor Albrecht Voss, Director of the Center for Near and Middle Eastern Studies at Philipp Marburg University, Anna Piller, Director of the Digitization Unit at the University of Hull, and Hendrikje Karius, Director of the Digitization Center at the Goethe Library. The team was accompanied by Professor Ahmed Al-Shawki, Vice Dean of the Faculty of Archeology, accompanied by a team of faculty staff, teaching assistants, administrators, and students from the Faculty of Archeology participating in the program.
Dr. Islam Hegazy gave a lecture in which he reviewed the digitization efforts at Ain Shams University, and also touched on the various capabilities of the Shams program, which the university relies on in many fields,
The delegation was also taken on a tour of the corridors of the building to get acquainted with the technological capabilities offered by the center, whether in the educational field, such as training in various technological courses with the latest methods, or steps to deal with researchers and provide them with many scientific and research services.
The delegation praised the quality of the operating systems and the efficiency of the services provided to researchers and faculty staff. Finally, the team went to the building of the Faculty of Archeology to complete the training of faculty staff and administrators on the various methods of digitization.
