Within the framework of the community service sector and environmental development at the Faculty of Education, at Ain Shams University, in preserving the lives of people and the interest in spreading the culture of rapid aid for emergency cases that require rapid, urgent and highly skilled intervention that reduces the rate of risks to which people are exposed, the Faculty of Education organized a distinguished training workshop on first aid .
This came under the auspices of Prof. Safaa Shehata, Acting Dean of the Faculty, and in cooperation with the Faculty of Nursing, Prof. Sahar Musa, Dean of the Faculty, and coordinating Prof. Alaa El-Din Abdel-Halim Mohamed Farag, Vice Dean for Community Service and Environmental Development, Prof. Hiam Refaat, Vice Dean of the Faculty of Nursing for Community Service and Environmental Development.
The workshop was co-presented by Dr. Shaima Nabil Abdel Salam, Dr. Zainab Hussein Bakr, and Dr. Rasha Muhammad Metwally from the Faculty of Nursing, in coordination with a team of faculty staff at the faculty.
The workshop was attended by a large number of faculty students from all departments, as well as faculty staff who supervised and followed up on student groups.
The training was in the form of working groups, where training took place on how to save the life of the injured, and that the first aid process does not require high medical skills or techniques, as it is sufficient for the paramedic to train on first aid skills through the use of the minimum equipment and skills, and the workshop dealt with first aid In case of head injury, fractures, cuts, loss of consciousness (fainting) and other important topics in this field.
The focus was also on proper and correct procedures that must be followed to provide first aid to the injured without harming him. The workshop focused on first aid related to heart attacks, strokes, and suffocation due to the severity of their danger to life.
The trainers explained that a person who has knowledge of first aid can contribute to saving the life of a person with such seizures. The workshop also touched on the correct way to perform cardiopulmonary resuscitation using a medical mannequin to achieve a better understanding of this process.
The workshop emphasized that the aim of first aid is to preserve the life of the injured, stop harm or damage to him, and promote recovery by providing initial treatment for the injury.
It is worth noting that the workshop focused on a variety of practical training for all attendees, and many recommendations were made, including the need to provide first aid to the injured at the scene of the accident, unless there is something that threatens his life, priority in first aid for everything that threatens breathing and blood circulation, and not to neglect any injury, even if it is simple, and accelerate work with perfection and remain calm.
At the end of the training workshop, many photos were taken, and the lecturers were honored for their outstanding efforts, in conclusion, the importance of first aid in protecting human resources and providing safety, which is a priority for community service to achieve the mission of the faculty and the university, was emphasized.
