The Faculty of Education celebrates International Women's Day and Egyptian Women's Day under the slogan "Inspirational Women and Future Challenges" in cooperation with the National Council for Women, Cairo Branch

The Faculty of Education, Ain Shams University, in the framework of celebrating International Women's Day and Egyptian Women's Day, in cooperation with the National Council for Women, Cairo Branch, organized a celebration under the slogan "Inspirational Women and Future Challenges" under the auspices of Prof. Safaa Shehata, Acting Dean of the Faculty, Prof. Alaa El-Din Abdel-Halim Farag, Vice Dean for Community Service and Environmental Development, with the follow-up and coordination of the National Council for Women, Cairo Branch, represented by Prof. Maha Marwan, the council’s reporter for the Cairo branch, Prof. Rokaya Shalabi, former dean of the Faculty for Women and alternate rapporteur at the Cairo branch.

         
   
         

The celebration began in the faculty’s theater on Sunday, March 19, 2023, with the Republican anthem. The ceremony was presented by Dr. Shaima Al-Toukhi, a faculty member in the Arabic Language Department. The celebration was opened with the speech of the Faculty of Education, which was presented by Prof. Aladdin Abdel Halim Farag, Vice Dean for Community Service and Environmental Development, who spoke about the importance of the role of women, especially Egyptian women, in supporting society and paying attention to their role in achieving comprehensive development, which is a major pillar of Egyptian society, followed by a recorded speech by Prof. Mahmoud Kamel Al-Naqa, Professor of Curricula and Teaching Methods at the Faculty of Education and a pioneer of education, in which he focused on the importance of women and their pioneering societal role, and His Eminence greeted her on her feast. This was followed by a speech by the National Council for Women delivered by Ms. Maha Marwan, Rapporteur of the National Council for Women - Cairo Branch, which focused on the roles of the National Council for Women and its various and important programs and the services provided by the Council to Egyptian women. Then followed by a speech by Prof. Rokaya Shalabi, who emphasized the importance of activities related to Egyptian women and the necessity of action to further activate it and the plan of the National Council in the Cairo branch to pay attention and cooperate with all institutions to achieve this goal.

         
   
         

The celebration included many participants, including Professor/ Nevin Makram Labib, Director of the Center for Social and Cultural Planning and Chairman of the Digital Transformation Committee at the Institute of National Planning, the great journalist Dalia Mahfouz, the writer on the Eve of the Arab World and the owner of a community initiative (Victory for Your Family), Professor/ Ilham Saif al-Dawla Hamdan, Professor of Linguistics Authorship and creative writing at the Academy of Arts, former head of the creative production department, and a member of the Egyptian Writers Union, Mrs. Rasha Haikal is considered the first Egyptian woman to launch a channel specialized in cooking in the Arab world, and a recorded speech by Professor/ Wahad Samir, a professor at the Higher Institute of Arts and winner of the second place in the Republic in the National Initiative for Smart Green Projects (with the Bab Rizq scrap project), and various interventions were made, including one of Prof. Samia Khader, Professor of Sociology at the Faculty.

The participation included a group of shows of creative female students at the college under the supervision of Dr. Muhammad Al-Taher, Assistant Professor in the Department of Arabic Language. The student included Yara Askalani Shehata Mukhtar, the student, and the student Rania Muhammad Ibrahim Mustafa, the student Nada Mustafa Ali Muhammad, the student Hadeer Muhammad Muhammad, the student Mahrael Gerges Ayyad, Professor Amal Mazhar Mahmoud Al-Bari. In conclusion, a number of recommendations were focused on continuing to pay attention to Egyptian women's issues and working to activate their participation in various fields, and many memorial photos were taken. All the participants were honored, and the honors of the National Council for Women, the Cairo branch, and the honors of the faculty.

The celebration was held as an affirmation of the faculty's appreciation for Egyptian women, their leadership and achievements in all fields, and the faculty's support for cooperation with all sectors and institutions of Egyptian society.
