Under the auspices of Prof. Mahmoud El-Meteini, President of Ain Shams University, Prof. Mohamed Ayman Salih, Vice President for Postgraduate Studies and Research, Ain Shams University Graduate Studies Sector is organizing an awareness workshop on intellectual property on Tuesday, November 29, 2022, within the framework of Ain Shams University's interest in spreading awareness related to rights that protect human thought and creativity, including patents.
The workshop is hosted by Dr. Amr El Dakkak, an intellectual property expert and a patent agent at the United States Patent and Trademark Office. Prof. El Dakkak has extensive experience in filing patents in different countries, including Egypt, the United Arab Emirates, and the United States of America. Dr. graduated. Amr is from the University of Alexandria and holds a PhD in Molecular Biology from the University of Illinois at Chicago. He then continued to conduct research at the Swarz Institute for Medical Research. He also worked as a faculty member and researcher at the American National University and then the University of Kansas Medical Center. He published many scientific papers in prestigious scientific journals such as Cell and Nature Cell Biology.
Dr. Yassin El-Shazly, Vice Dean of the Faculty of Law for Graduate Studies and Research, Prof. Mohamed El Behairy, Executive Director of the Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship at Ain Shams University, Dr. Abdullah Sami, General Supervisor of the Expatriates Welfare Office at Ain Shams University are organizing the workshop.
The workshop includes a lecture on intellectual property, a workshop on filing international patents, and consulting clinics on intellectual property. Consulting clinics provide guidance and advice to companies, small and medium enterprises, entrepreneurs and individuals wishing to establish projects based on innovation, to contribute to the registration, use and utilization of intellectual property rights.
