Prof. Mahmoud El-Meteini, President of Ain Shams University, received, at the Zaafaran Palace, the Ambassador of the State of Azerbaijan, in the presence of Prof. Ayman Saleh, Vice President of the University for Graduate Studies and Research, Prof. Hanan Kamel, Dean of the Faculty of Arts, Prof. Shahira Samir, Executive Director of the International Relations and Academic Cooperation Sector and Prof. Sherweit El-Ahmady, Director of International Students & Mobility Office at Ain Shams University
During the meeting, steps to establish a hall at the Faculty of Arts were discussed under the auspices of Prof. Mahmoud El-Meteini, President of the University and under the supervision of the Dean of the Faculty and the Department of Oriental Languages, represented by the head of the department and its members, to enable students studying the Azeri language at the Faculty of Arts to see more information about the state of Azerbaijan, in order to consolidate cultural relations between The Arab Republic of Egypt and the State of Azerbaijan, and ways to enhance academic and cultural cooperation between the university and Azerbaijani universities were discussed.
During the meeting, the President of Ain Shams University praised the friendly relations between the two countries, stressing that the university always opens its doors to cooperate with all local and international bodies in order to raise the scientific and research level in all fields in the various faculties of the university.
The university president added that all steps will be taken to quickly prepare a hall that will support students of the Azeri language at the Faculty of Arts.
For his part, the Azerbaijani ambassador expressed his welcome to cooperation with Ain Shams University, and praised the developments achieved by the university in the field of scientific research and education, stressing his country's readiness to enhance academic and cultural cooperation between Azerbaijani and Egyptian universities.
After the meeting, Prof. Mahmoud El-Meteini, President of the University, accompanied the Ambassador of the State of Azerbaijan to inspect the building of special programs in the Faculty of Arts and the headquarters designated for the hall, which is being established in cooperation with the State of Azerbaijan.
It is noteworthy that the hall will include an integrated library of books that serve the specialty, in addition to computers and printers. Research and scientific activities, seminars and a cultural day will be carried out on the sidelines of scientific competitions for students, allowing students to gain more information about the state of Azerbaijan.
