Within the framework of the administration of Ain Shams University to obtain the best internationally recognized academic credits and to develop the research environment to achieve the best for students and researchers, the atomic absorption unit in the central laboratory of the Faculty of Science, at Ain Shams University, has been accredited under the auspices of Prof. Mahmoud El-Meteini, President of Ain Shams University, and Prof. Muhammad Rajaa Al-Satohi, Dean of the Faculty of Science, where the unit in the central laboratory was accredited by the National Accreditation Council “EGAC” for a period of four years from the date of 04-14-2023.
It is worth noting that the unit was approved for the first time on 12-19-2018.
The atomic absorption unit is one of the most important units of the central laboratory, as it evaluates all elements, especially heavy ones such as mercury, cadmium, arsenic, and lead, in all types of water such as drinking water, sewage and industrial wastewater, as well as in the tissues of living organisms such as fish and other marine aquatic organisms, using the absorption device. The unit has been re-accredited for the determination of some heavy elements of drinking water in accordance with the requirements of the international standard ISO/IEC -17025:2017.
