The closing of the training activities of Ain Shams University Award for Government Excellence evaluators

Within the framework of the second phase of implementing the internal awards system launched by the Ministry of Planning and Economic Development in cooperation with the Supreme Council of Universities, the Egypt Award for Government Excellence concluded a course for preparing and qualifying teams for evaluating internal excellence awards at Ain Shams University over a period of three days from 9 to 11 May 2023. The training course was held in iHub innovation building at Ain Shams University.

The training workshops dealt with the standards on which the government institutional excellence model is based, including the axis of realizing the vision, which includes Egypt's Vision 2030, and the axis of main tasks, which includes services and steps that government institutions mainly follow to develop proactive policies and initiatives based on a correct expectation of the future, and the third axis related to enablers, which includes head Human capital, resource and property management, governance, risk management and business continuity. The evaluation process was also dealt with, the structure of the evaluation teams, the evaluation mechanism and tools, and the stages of institutional evaluation were discussed. The training was attended by Prof. Hazem Sharaf El-Din, Training and Quality Assurance Consultant for the Institutional Excellence Awards, and Prof. Mohamed Abdel Salam, Director of Educational Institutions Awards, Egypt Award for Government Excellence.

Prof. Mahmoud El-Meteini, President of Ain Shams University, explained the university's keenness to provide all means of technical and logistical support necessary to implement the system of internal awards at Ain Shams University, because of the impact of the award on spreading and deepening the culture of excellence and enhancing the spirit of competitiveness for the development of human capabilities, as well as the keenness to achieve transparency, governance and integrity of the stages of the award By forming a committee to manage the university's internal award.

It is noteworthy that Prof. Mahmoud El-Meteini, President of the University, issued a decision to form the executive team to manage the Ain Shams University Award for Excellence, headed by Prof. Nagwa Badr, Dean of the Faculty of Computer and Information Sciences, and the membership of Prof. Hala Mushir, Vice Dean of the Faculty of Computer and Information Sciences for Education and Student Affairs, and the evaluation officail.

Prof. Nagwa Badr indicated that a training workshop was held for members of the Executive Committee to manage the internal excellence system, implemented by the Ministry of Planning and Economic Development over two days in December 2022. The training workshop dealt with the stages of managing internal awards and the tasks of the committee to manage internal awards operations. The Executive Committee is a Direct contact with the management team of the Egypt Award for Government Excellence at the Ministry of Planning and Economic Development.
