For the first time …The Faculty of Law, Ain Shams University signs a new cooperation agreement with the Faculty of Law at the University of Lyon to grant a BA in law from France

Prof. Mahmoud El-Meteini, President of the University, and Prof. Mohamed Safi, Dean of the Faculty, at the headquarters of the University of Lyon (3) in France, in the presence of the Acting President of the University of Lyon (3), Vice-Presidents of the University and the Dean of the Faculty of Law, signed a new agreement renewing the cooperation and partnership agreement between the two sides for a period of five years.

         
   
         

The new agreement provides for the first time that students in the French section of the college will be awarded a Bachelor of Laws degree from France, which is recognized at the level of the European Union, while students are currently obtaining a degree in legal studies from the University of Lyon.

Thus, according to the new agreement, students obtain, at the end of the fourth year in the French Division, a Bachelor’s degree in Law from France, in addition to that, the student obtains a Bachelor’s degree in Law from Egypt, and they also obtain a number of hours that qualify them to join directly the second year of the master’s degree, whether at the University of Lyon (3) or at Ain Shams University.

         
   
         

The BA agreement also stipulates the right of students currently enrolled in the department to integrate into the new system if they fulfill the conditions stipulated in the agreement, and the right of students who graduated from the department last year to obtain a “distinguished diploma in legal studies” from the University of Lyon (3) for a fee They studied it from extra hours remotely.

The agreement also included the renewal of the agreement between the two universities regarding the master’s degree offered by the University of Lyon (3) at the headquarters of Ain Shams University, according to which students obtain a master’s degree from France, after completing their studies at the headquarters of the Faculty of Law at Ain Shams University.

   
   

The signing ceremony was attended on the French side by Prof. Marc Boninech, Acting President of the University of Lyon (3) and Vice President for Institutional and Public Affairs, Prof. Natalie Krief, Vice President for Academic Affairs, and Prof. Manuel Joubert, Vice President for International Relations, Prof. Olivier Joux, Dean of the Faculty of Law, and attended with the President of the University, Prof. Mahmoud El-Meteini, Prof. Mohamed Safi, Dean of the Faculty, Prof. Khaled Hamdy, Director of the French Division, Prof. Ahmed Khalifa, Director of the International Cooperation Office, and Prof. Nora Essa, deputy director of the division.

   
   

The signing of the agreement, which included many new scientific, administrative and financial details, was preceded by lengthy working sessions since the beginning of the week between the Egyptian delegation and the French delegation, consisting of the Dean of the Faculty of Law in Lyon, Vice Dean Prof. David Derossan, Prof. Stéphane Payet, Division Coordinator from the French side in the past years, and Ms. Valerie Tamper, Director of Finance and Administration, University of Lyon.

The two parties pledged to work immediately to take the necessary legal measures in both universities to bring the agreement into force.
