In continuation of the series of developments taking place at Ain Shams University, Prof. Mahmoud El-Meteini, President of Ain Shams University, laid the foundation stone for the new building of the Faculty of Computer and Information Sciences on the main campus of the university, with the participation and presence of Prof. Ayman Farid, Assistant Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research for Planning, Training and Qualification for the Labor Market, Prof. Abdel Fattah Sauod, Vice President for Education and Student Affairs, and Prof. Ayman Saleh, Vice President for Postgraduate Studies and Research, Prof. Ghada Farouk, Vice President for Community Service and Environmental Development, Prof. Nagwa Badr, Dean of the Faculty of Computer and Information Sciences, Prof. Yasser Al-Qadi, former Minister of Communications, and a member of the Council of the Faculty of Computer and Information Sciences from abroad, and Engineer Hani Dahi, President of the Nile Valley Company for Contracting and Real Estate Investments, and the Vice Deans of the Faculty of Computer and Information Sciences, Prof. Hala Mushir, Vice Dean for Education and Student Affairs, Prof. Rasha Ismail, Vice Dean for Graduate Studies and Research, and Prof. Tamer El-Kady, Vice Dean for Community Service and Environmental Development, and Prof. Yasser Mugahid, and gentlemen members of the Council of the Faculty of Computer and Information Sciences, staff, the teaching assistants and administrators.
During the laying of the foundation stone for the new building of the Faculty of Computers and Information, Prof. Mahmoud El-Meteini, said that the university has developed a plan to implement the building according to the highest international specifications and standards, to be the LEED system for evaluating green buildings.
He added that Ain Shams University aims to implement an integrated strategic plan to emerge from Ain Shams University in a new dress that combines the legacy of its history as one of the universities of the golden age according to the Times classification, and at the same time keeping pace with the requirements of the era and the rapid development witnessed by educational institutions around the world.
Prof. Nagwa Badr, Dean of the Faculty, said that the Faculty of Computer and Information Sciences has witnessed a quantum leap in the past few years, whether with regard to the diversity of academic programs that are consistent with the requirements of the labor market or with regard to raising the efficiency of infrastructure and logistical aspects, pointing out that the new building of the Faculty will culminate efforts that lasted for several years to achieve the desired equation in Upgrading the educational system in an integrated manner.
She indicated that the new building will be the first environmentally friendly college, as Ain Shams University is keen to implement sustainability standards in accordance with Egypt's Vision 2030
