Prof. Dr. Mahmoud El-Metini, President of Ain Shams University, held an extensive meeting with Ms. Quincy Dermody, Executive Director of AMIDEST Egypt Scholarship Program, to discuss aspects of cooperation between Ain Shams University and AMIDEAST within the framework of the Ministry of Higher Education Initiative and the Public Universities Scholarship Program.
During the meeting held at the headquarters of the Palace of Saffron, aspects of cooperation between Ain Shams University and AMIDEAST were discussed within the framework of the initiative of the Ministry of Higher Education and the program of granting public universities.
The achievements of the program, which has been successful since 2015 in providing scholarships to hundreds of students from the faculties of engineering, commerce, computing and information at Ain Shams University, were reviewed in order to open better prospects for students in the labor market through vital disciplines that serve the ambitious plans of the national economy.
They also discussed the steps to develop centers for students with disabilities and ways to expand their base of benefiting from the AMIDEAST grant program. The project is being implemented in five Egyptian public universities (Ain Shams University, Cairo, Alexandria, Assiut and Mansoura) in cooperation with Helm Consulting. The deans of faculties also reviewed the nature of the study in each faculty and the most important programs, as well as their units to support students with disabilities and the nature of services and facilities provided to them.
