Under the patronage of Prof. Ghada Farouk, Acting President of Ain Shams University, Prof. Abdel Fattah Saoud, Vice President of the University for Education and Student Affairs, and within the framework of the university’s readiness to receive and welcome new and old students for the academic year 2023/2024 and work to provide all services to all students. This morning, Prof. Abdel Fattah Saoud, Vice President of the University for Education and Student Affairs, witnessed the flag raising and saluting ceremony during the first day of the start of the new academic year 2023/2024, in the presence of a group of faculty deans.
Prof. Abdel Fattah Saoud, Vice President of the University for Education and Student Affairs, expressed his happiness with the future youth, new and old students of Ain Shams University, who did not leave the university during the summer vacation period, where a festival was prepared to welcome new students and open the academic year with a review of all the activities at the university, including artistic activities. And during a full month, which is the duration of the reception this year, all the theatrical performances that won awards will be presented at the Mahmoud Odeh Theater, which has been renovated to a very high level, as well as the sports teams, folk arts, and plastic arts, which have won local and international awards.
His Excellency added that Ain Shams University is a five-star university that includes the best students and the best faculty staff and offers strong curricula that qualify students for the needs of the labor market and offers serious education and strong activities, whether artistic, sports or theatrical. Ain Shams University offers education and entertainment at the highest level, to give its students a strong and independent personality to be ambassadors for Ain Shams University in the era of the new republic and to be the nucleus of a new generation that represents a great university serving a greater country.
His Excellency extended all thanks and appreciation to Mr. Ibrahim Saeed Hamza, Assistant Secretary for the Education and Students Sector, and his work team for the efforts made to bring the reception to fruition in this wonderful way.
He also extended his thanks and appreciation to Prof. Mamdouh Abdel Aleem, Advisor to the Vice President of the University for Education and Student Affairs, Prof. Hatem Rabie, leader of the Students for Egypt family at the university, Prof. Sameh Awadallah, Professor in the Department of Mass Communication at the Faculty of Childhood, Mr. Tariq Ahmed, Acting Director General of the General Administration of Youth Welfare, for the effort they provided during the last period.
In his speech, Prof. Mamdouh Abdel Aleem, Advisor to the Vice President for Education and Student Affairs, welcomed new and old students for the academic year 2023-2024, welcoming the provision of all services to them through the University Students Union with all its committees in cooperation with the Students for Egypt family.
He added that Ain Shams University is not only an educational institution, but rather a social, sporting, cultural and artistic institution for practicing all kinds of activities through which the talents of our students are discovered.
His Excellency thanked Prof. Ghada Farouk, Acting President of Ain Shams University, Prof. Abdel Fattah Saoud, Vice President of the University for Education, Student Affairs and Youth Care at the University, and all the work team for their efforts to make this reception come out in this wonderful way.
The University Year Reception Festival was organized and coordinated by the Students for Egypt family at Ain Shams University in cooperation with the University Students Union with all its social - cultural - artistic - mobile - family - scientific - sports committees - the Central Social Solidarity Fund.
Prof. Abdel Fattah Saoud, Vice President of the University for Education and Student Affairs, also witnessed an artistic performance by Choir On, led by Maestro Mahmoud Saber, which witnessed great interaction from students on the university campus. His Excellency also inspected the art exhibition and the products and paintings it included made from recycling regulations.
In addition to talent competitions among students in the areas of solo singing and group singing- solo playing - imitation - karaoke).
His Excellency also visited the exhibition of the Women’s Support and Anti-Violence Unit, which is participating in an awareness campaign at the Reception Festival until the end of the week to educate students on how to confront violence in every form and the services provided by the workshops to empower personal capabilities and personal strength to confront any form of violence. As well as the psychological support provided, Prof. Abdel Fattah Saoud stressed the need for students to go to the unit to receive help and support regarding any danger they may be exposed to inside or outside the university.
The Department of Social Activity and Trips presented a documentary film to introduce the various activities of the administration, including the activities and camps of the university in Ras El-Bar and Matrouh. While the Department of Cultural Activity presented a free exhibition to distribute cultural, religious, sports, and artistic books to students, with the participation of the Supreme Council of Culture, the General Organization of Cultural Palaces, and the National Center for Translation, in addition to holding a cultural competition whose activities concluded with the distribution of prizes to the winning students.
For its part, the Department of the Scouts and Public Service presented an artistic workshop to display the scout’s artistic artifacts, in addition to showing a film about the Samar that was presented at the University Youth Week held at Helwan University and the winner of first place at the level of Egyptian universities, as well as displaying murals that express Egypt’s national occasions, the most important of which are the glorious October victories.
The Department of Families and Student Unions distributed forms for students to join the various artistic, cultural and scientific committees according to their inclinations, interests and talents, and distributed an introductory flyer for the activities of families and the Student Union, in addition to holding a bicycle marathon on campus on the main university campus and running recreational games:

In addition to an awareness campaign for students about the dangers of addiction and abuse, “Your Health is Your Balance Campaign,” measuring blood pressure and diabetes, and measuring weight, height, vision, and blood type.
While the Sports Activity Department organized competitions in sports and electronic games (futsal rowing - Ergometer - Darts - (PlayStation).
The Social Solidarity Fund introduced the students to the services provided by the Fund, including reducing expenses, distributing solidarity forms and receiving them after completing them from first-year students, distributing free forms for subway subscriptions, in addition to allocating a special phone number through which students can communicate with the Solidarity Committee in complete confidentiality.
