The Faculty of Law, Ain Shams University, organized an introductory lecture for students of the three subjects: Arabic, French, and English, about the activities of simulation models and mock trials in the Faculty during the current academic year.
The lecture was opened by Prof. Muhammad Safi, Dean of the Faculty, who expressed the Faculty’s full support for these extracurricular activities, whether administrative, technical or financial support, and pointed out the Faculty’s focus on providing opportunities for students to build their personalities and hone their skills.
He also announced that the Faculty will continue to organize a competition within the university for students who wish to do so, in addition to those who will be chosen to represent the Faculty in international competitions.
Prof. Yassin Al-Shazly, Vice Dean of the Faculty for Postgraduate Studies and Research, explained the importance of the mock trial activity in building the student’s personality and legal and personal skills, and pointed out the opportunities that such activities provide in creating training and employment opportunities for students in the labor market.
Prof. Ahmed Fathi Khalifa, Director of the Faculty’s International Cooperation Office, spoke about the various skills that participants learn in the mock trial, including critical thinking and the ability to look at legal issues from different angles. The meeting was attended by students who participated in the four competitions in the past years, and they spoke to their colleagues about their rich experience in this subject.
It is worth noting that attention to mock trials and interactive learning methods is one of the Faculty’s priorities in developing the educational service in order to achieve the quality of the educational process at the Faculty.
