Laying the foundation stone for the new dental hospital at Ain Shams University in the presence of the Minister of Higher Education

Prof. Dr. Khaled Abdel Ghaffar, Minister of Higher Education, explained that the inauguration of a new dental hospital represents an addition to Ain Shams University hospitals and an educational, research and service addition to the university hospital sector.

He pointed out that the Faculty of Dentistry, Ain Shams University, offers distinctive services, free of charge, as well as educational service for our students in the light of scientific and educational possibilities owned by them and offers an opportunity of upscale education not less than any country in the world. 300 and 400 of the 30,000 dental schools worldwide.

Prof. Dr. Mohamed Diaa, Dean of the Faculty reviewed the general vision of the new dental hospital at Ain Shams University, where basement and ground floor and four recurring roles on a flat about 2000 square meters, and pointed out that the hospital provides health care for dental patients and road accident patients suffering from facial fractures The hospital also offers advanced therapeutic steps for dental implants and oral and dental rehabilitation for cleft lip and throat patients.

The hospital includes (100) dental units, (30) inpatients (resident), (4) small operation rooms, (3) major operation rooms, (3) recovery rooms, and intensive care unit.

The hospital also contains outpatient dental clinics (children - adults) operating morning and evening, in addition to a 24-hour emergency department, a center for the treatment of patients with special needs and the elderly, as well as a dental center for digital fixtures and fillings - Digital Radiology Center - Dental Implant and Dental Rehabilitation Center - Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Center - Maxillofacial Deformities Center - Central Sterilization Unit.

It is scheduled to take between one and a half to two years to complete the hospital with financial resources estimated at 250 million pounds for buildings and foundations, in addition to about 200 million pounds for equipment as an initial cost.

The attendees also inspected the Central Sterilization Unit, which is the first of its kind at the level of dentistry colleges, which was specially designed for the Faculty of Dentistry at Ain Shams University. 200-liter capacity and a special air-conditioning unit with bacterial filters.

The new excellence clinic includes 25 machines with radiology and nursing rooms, serving the college franchise students, fourth and fifth year students as well as graduate students as well as franchise students at other colleges of dentistry.
