The Dean of the Faculty of Arts honored Major General Staff Officer Bahjat Farid, former director of the National Defense College, during a symposium entitled: Youth and Sustaining Peace

Today Prof. Hanan Kamel, Dean of the Faculty of Arts at Ain Shams University, honored Major General Staff Officer Bahjat Muhammad Farid, former director of the National Defense College, and presented him with the faculty’s shield, in the presence of Prof. Muhammad Ibrahim, Vice Dean of the Faculty for Education and Student Affairs, Prof. Hatem Rabie, Vice Dean of the Faculty for Postgraduate Studies and Research and Head of the Family for Central Egypt, Prof. Hanan Muhammad Salem, Vice Dean of the Faculty for Community Service and Environmental Development Affairs, and coordinated by Mrs. Suha Al-Sabaa, Director of the Youth Welfare Department, Helmy Ahmed, President of the Student Union, and his deputy, Walaa Tayseer.

         
   
         

The honor came as a culmination of his efforts to educate the younger generation about the importance of learning about the history of their country’s victories, which they did not witness, and the importance of building their present and future by arming themselves with science and knowledge, during the “Youth and Sustaining Peace” symposium. He also urged the students to transfer the information they obtained today to their colleagues and families.

For his part, Prof. Muhammad Ibrahim, Vice Dean of the Faculty for Education and Student Affairs, praised the college administration was keen to select strategic experts with a high degree of knowledge and experience in light of the celebration of the golden jubilee of the glorious October victory, which inspires meanings of pride and belonging to this dear homeland.

         
   
         

Also, Major General Staff Officer Mohamed Farid encouraged the students to join the presidential program to qualify young people for leadership. He also noted that many achievements and gains had been achieved for young people during the era of President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, which had never been achieved during another presidential term. He believed in the role of young people in shaping the present and future of their country, so he supported them after qualifying them to assume leadership positions. And support them by providing them with the opportunity to create the future, and participate in shaping their present by representing them in all forums.

Major General Staff Officer Bahjat also urged the students to access the Presidency of the Republic’s website and browse Egypt’s achievements after 2014. He also reviewed the three pillars of the establishment of the civil state, which are: (citizenship - law - civil) and pluralism, its most important foundations. He also emphasized that the Messenger of God, Muhammad, may God bless him and grant him peace, was the first who establish a civil state based on these three pillars.

He called on students to verify information before publishing it through the official sources, websites, and pages of the concerned authorities.

         
   
         

Major General Staff Officer Bahjat Muhammad Farid reviewed the explanatory video; The History of the Struggle of the Egyptians through its best young soldiers since the 1952 revolution through the 1963 war, the six years of the war of attrition, and the 1973 victory, the recapture of Taba and the recovery of the last inch of Sinai, and the creative chaos and losses of the 2011 revolution that have been overcome since 2014 until now under the leadership of President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi. And the challenges, conflicts, and plans that Egypt has gone through and is still going through, aiming to destroy it using different generations of wars, starting from regular wars all the way to fifth-generation wars.

He also pointed out that the events in Gaza were intended to push Egypt into conflicts in order to try to complete the series and plan to divide the Middle East, which Egypt survived thanks to its army and people, and in the meantime, Egypt is building the new republic, which is one of the most prominent achievements of the Egyptian state in light of the directives and support of the political leadership in various fields, especially after 2014, and the mechanisms followed by the Egyptian state under the auspices of His Excellency Mr. President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, President of the Republic, to empower young people and engage them in various aspects of life.

         
   
         

He also stressed that the new republic of the Egyptian state seeks to possess comprehensive capabilities militarily, economically, politically, and socially, to enhance the concept of citizenship and acceptance of different opinions, and to achieve peace, stability, and development to achieve political development for Egyptian society based on consolidating the concepts of social justice, dignity, and humanity, in addition to building the Egyptian person in an integrated, correct, mental and cultural way, believing that the Egyptian person and this great, valiant people are the treasure of this nation and the icon of its victory and glory.

He added that Egypt is currently seeking to launch giant national projects, construction and development, and the establishment of major national projects, as it has brought about a major development renaissance, including the new Suez Canal, the Suez Canal Economic Zone, tunnel projects, Egypt without slums, the establishment of new cities, new airports, new industrial cities, and the state launched a project to revive the Egyptian countryside, one and a half million acres, Egypt’s water security, the renaissance of education, the electricity sector, social solidarity, and the health sector.

At the end of the meeting, His Excellency Major General answered the students’ questions about the topic of the symposium, and everyone was keen to take souvenir photos.
