Prof. Nagwa Badr, Dean of the Faculty of Computer and Information Sciences, at Ain Shams University, received a delegation from the British University of Exeter, as part of a tour that the delegation took at Campus 1 at the university, in the presence of Prof. Shahira Samir, Executive Director of the International Relations and Academic Collaboration Sector, Prof. Sherweit El-Ahmady, Director of the International Students and Mobility Office at the university, Prof. Weam Mahmoud, Executive Director of the Innovation and Entrepreneurship Center.
During the visit, Prof. Najwa Badr presented an overview of the establishment of the faculty and its departments, which is considered the oldest faculty of Computers in the Republic, noting that the faculty has several partnerships with international companies in the field of computers and information, pointing out that the faculties receive more than 1,000 applications for enrollment every year, which is a huge number. Therefore, the faculty selects a number of students to join it according to specific rules.
The delegation toured the faculty’s auditoriums and laboratories, accompanied by Prof. Najwa Badr, and they learned about the faculty students’ most prominent projects, including the Shams robot and its modified version that speaks the Arabic language. The Dean of the Faculty gave them booklets about the faculties.
