Under the patronage of Prof. Mohamed Diaa Zein El-Abedeen, President of Ain Shams University, Prof. Hanan Kamel, Dean of the Faculty of Arts, received the subcommittee formed by the Arts Sector Committee of the Supreme Council of Universities to determine the material and human components of the Contemporary Israeli Sciences Vocational Diploma Program.
Prof. Hanan Kamel confirmed that the aim of the visit was to determine the availability of material and human capabilities in the college to implement it, as well as to review the extent to which the regulation fulfills the scientific conditions. The committee consisted of Prof. Gamal El-Shazly, Vice President of Cairo University for Education and Student Affairs, Prof. Mohamed Al-Rawi, Secretary of the Promotions Committee of the Supreme Council of Universities and Head of the Hebrew Language Department at Helwan University, Prof. Yahya Abdullah, Professor of Hebrew Language at Mansoura Arts, and the visit was witnessed by Prof. Mohamed Ibrahim, Vice Dean of the Faculty for Education and Student Affairs, Prof. Hatem Rabie, Vice Dean of the Faculty for Graduate Studies and Research, Prof. Samia Gumaa, Head of the Department of Hebrew Language and Literature, and Prof. Ahmed Salah, General Coordinator of Programs at the Faculty.
Prof. Hanan Kamel indicated that the faculty is striving to modernize its scientific system to keep pace with the successive changes in the higher education system, based on the belief in the importance of science and university education and its relationship to sustainable development and in line with quality standards. Therefore, it was proposed to create a professional diploma program in contemporary Israeli studies, With the aim of providing students from various specializations with realistic information about the modern and contemporary political situations in Israel, supplying the labor market with political analysts and experts in the security and social fields in Israel, and introducing Israeli society, including its blocs and parties, and Israel’s situation regionally and internationally.
For his part, Prof. Hatem Rabie, Vice Dean of the Faculty for Postgraduate Studies and Research, said that this professional diploma has a study period of one academic year, and a credit hour system with a total of 24 credit hours, and is subject to the general controls and standards contained in the new postgraduate studies list with the credit hour system 2017.
The committee also discussed the objectives of the program, its target group, the language of instruction, the articles of the regulations related to the conditions for enrollment in the program, the rules for registering courses and study dates, its rules and requirements for success in the program, the examination system, tuition fees, and courses in the program.
The committee visited and inspected the classrooms and met the faculty members teaching the program. The visit lasted for 3 hours, and the committee members praised the equipment prepared for the program and the faculty staff teaching the program.
