Believing in the community role of Ain Shams University and the importance of spreading health awareness among university students, the Community Service and Environmental Development Affairs Sector organized an awareness campaign “about the importance and benefits of permanent voluntary blood donation and introducing the 5-1 program” and a blood donation campaign, under the auspices of Prof. Mohamed Diaa Zein Al-Abedeen, President of Ain Shams University, and Prof. Ghada Farouk, Vice President of the University for Community Service and Environmental Development.
The campaign witnessed a large turnout from students, as students were made aware of the importance and benefits of permanent voluntary blood donation and were introduced to the 5-1 program, which aims to provide five donors for each patient, especially patients who need continuous blood transfusions.
The campaign was held in cooperation with the Faculty of Medicine, the Blood Bank at Ain Shams University Hospitals, the Faculty of Arts, the Faculty of Archeology, and the company (G_Mind), which specializes in advanced educational curriculum technology using modern technologies, and under the supervision of Prof. Hala Sweid, Vice Dean of the College of Medicine for Community Service and Environmental Development Affairs and Prof. Hanan Salem, Vice Dean of the College of Arts, and Prof. Bassem Ahmed, Vice Dean of the Faculty of Archeology, under the administrative supervision of Major General Hossam El-Sherbiny, Assistant Secretary of the University for Community Service and Environmental Development Affairs.
