Prof. Mohamed Diaa Zain El-Abedeen, President of Ain Shams University, received His Excellency Ambassador Kim Young-hyun, South Korean Ambassador to Egypt, and his accompanying delegation, in the presence of Prof. Salwa Rashad, Dean of the Faculty of Al-Alsun, Prof. Shahira Samir, Executive Director of the International Relations and Academic Collaboration Sector, Prof. Sherweit El-Ahmady, Director of the International Students and Mobility Office, Dr. Sarah Majed, Lecturer in the department.
Prof. Mohamed Diaa Zain El-Abedeen referred to the university’s faculties, their establishment, and the number of students, adding that the university embraces 10,000 international students from 80 different nationalities.
The Korean ambassador expressed his happiness at visiting Ain Shams University, because of its great reputation and status in Egypt, Africa, and the Middle East, pointing to the ongoing cooperation between Egypt and South Korea.
Prof. Salwa Rashad, Dean of the Faculty of Al-Alsun, reviewed the established of the Faculty of Al-Alsun, which is considered one of the oldest faculties of the university, as well as its many departments that teach various languages, especially the Korean department, which is considered one of the most prestigious departments in Egypt and the Middle East for teaching the Korean language and its culture, praising the cooperation and support from the Korean side at the level of Koreans references and teachers in the department.
The attendees also watched an explanatory film about the development of the central library.
The meeting also witnessed a discussion of ways of cooperation with the Korean side in the fields of engineering and computers.
Prof. Mohamed Diaa Zain El-Abedeen invited the Ambassador of South Korea to attend the activities of the People’s Days Festival.
