Prof. Mohamed Diaa Zain El-Abedeen, President of Ain Shams University, received Dr. Maggie Nassif, Executive Director of the Fulbright Commission Office in Egypt; In the presence of Prof. Ali Al-Anwar, Dean of the Faculty of Medicine, Prof. Shahira Samir, Executive Director of the International Relations and Academic Collaboration Sector, Prof. Lubna Ezz Al-Arab, Head of the Oncology Department at the Faculty of Medicine, Prof. Azza Adel, Professor of Oncology, Engineer Iman Sami, Representative of the Ministry of Higher Education, Mrs. May Ayyad, coordinator of the American Experts Exchange Program at the Authority.
The meeting comes in light of the two sides’ keenness to continue the fruitful cooperation that has been ongoing for years, especially in the medical field, health care and engineering, cooperation since 2013, as well as discussing expanding cooperation to include other fields such as energy, water and pharmacy.
Prof. Mohamed Diaa Zain El-Abedeen confirmed that Ain Shams University is keen to activate and expand the partnership with various research and academic institutions around the world.
Dr. Maggie Nassif reviewed the history of the authority in Egypt since 1946. She also praised the intensity of attendance and interest she saw from the university community in Ain Shams.
Pointing to the most prominent programs and opportunities provided by the Fulbright Commission, Dr. Maggie Nassif also presented a report with proposals for scholarships that the Commission will award to Egyptian students during the coming period, in addition to project plans in the areas of professional development and leadership preparation.
The meeting also discussed the grant schedule for American experts who will come to Egypt during the coming period.
