Dr. Ayman Ashour reviewed the stages of the beginning of cooperation with the University of East London, which began in 2015, during the first academic year of his appointment as Dean of the Faculty of Engineering at Ain Shams University, noting that he was keen to consolidate the sustainable relationship between the two institutions, through joint cooperative work and taking measures. necessary to harmonize the curriculum.

The Minister pointed out that the period of exchange of delegations lasted for two years until the signing ceremony took place in 2018 at the Ministry of Higher Education for three programs, then it developed to include 11 programs offered in engineering, and in 2021 the Faculty of Computer and Information Sciences was included, and he thanked everyone who contributed to this partnership. Dr. Amanda Broderick, President of the University of East London, expressed her happiness in celebrating the unique partnership with Ain Shams University, as this partnership plays an essential role in strengthening international ties, noting that the University of East London is pursuing a path that cares for the university, students and industry, explaining that the University of East London has achieved remarkable success and obtained from many awards and honors, from the standpoint of providing high-quality education and positive results for students, pointing out that the university ranks 13th in the United Kingdom in terms of overall positivity, as the university aspires to become a leading university in the field of intensive employment in the United Kingdom, and for this reason the focus is to provide students with the knowledge and skills needed in the dynamic world of industries.

Mustafa Refaat, Secretary General of the Supreme Council of Universities, said that the double degree is a reflection in itself of an ongoing story that began in 2015, as a cooperative program for institutional linkage funded by the British Council with a project entitled “Sustainable Development of the Built Environment,” which is a project to include sustainability in the school curricula, pointing out From that moment on, it was realized that it was necessary to establish a sustainable partnership between the two institutions and draw up the curriculum, due diligence, student handbook, student services standards, etc.
