Prof. Mohamed Diaa Zein Al-Abedeen, President of Ain Shams University, inaugurated a number of development projects at the university’s hospitals, which included developing the endocrine surgery unit, the radiology unit at the Surgery Hospital, the catheterization room at the interventional radiology unit at Al-Batinah Hospital, and developing the gynecological endoscopy unit at the Obstetrics and Gynecology Hospital, within the framework of the comprehensive strategic plan that It is adopted by the Egyptian state to support and develop university hospitals in a way that contributes to the advancement of the health system and out of the keenness of Ain Shams University Hospitals to keep pace with the development process to improve the medical service provided.
Prof. Mohamed Diaa Zain Al-Abedeen expressed his pride and pride in his presence at the Faculty of Medicine among experienced academic figures, extending his thanks to the work team that participated in the developments of the university hospitals, stressing that these developments reflect an ambitious vision, and confirm the university’s commitment to providing distinguished, integrated, and high-quality health services to our university and local community. In line with the vision of the Egyptian state to provide a high standard suitable for Egyptians, as university hospitals receive approximately 12 thousand patients daily, in addition to their companions.
The university president stressed the importance of development and its repercussions on the psychological state of the patient and the doctor and his ability to perform his mission in the best way to achieve the development of the medical system in an integrated manner.
In his speech, Prof. Mahmoud El-Metini, former president of Ain Shams University, said that what is coming is better and faster and keeps pace with everything new and development continues, and everyone who assumes a position continues the path of those before him and adds to it through an integrated development system. He praised the leadership of Ain Shams University, which has a keen vision and a real desire to develop and advance the university and its hospitals.
Prof. Ali Al-Anwar explained that today’s achievements are the result of many years and a plan drawn up, generation after generation, to bring Ain Shams University Hospitals to what they aspire to and the distinguished level we see today, and we want to provide the best service to the patient. He also appreciated the efforts of the participants in the development and stressed the presence of more openings in soon.
For his part, Prof. Tarek Youssef, Executive Director of the Hospitals, thanked Professor Dr. Muhammad Dhia Zain Al-Abidin, President of the University, for his continued support for the hospitals. He also appreciated the efforts of the work team that led the development process over the years, headed by Prof. Mahmoud El-Meteini, the former president of the university, who was interested in developing hospitals since he assumed the deanship of the Faculty of Medicine and then the presidency of the university, and also Prof. Ashraf Omar, former Dean of the Faculty of Medicine, also thanked the distinguished work team of hospital directors and department directors for their continuous efforts to complete the development process.
Prof. Ashraf Omar expressed his happiness at seeing the product of the hard work of an integrated team in which he participated, to provide distinguished medical service to the Egyptian patient.
It is noteworthy that the Endocrine Surgery Unit and the Radiology Unit at the Surgery Hospital were developed with funding from the Zakat Committee at Al-Demerdash Hospital from donations from faculty members and hospital workers, which represents an example for community support, as patient accommodation rooms in the Endocrine Surgery Unit were developed with 25 beds and the completion of The diagnostic radiology unit was developed within the Surgical Hospital, in accordance with the latest international standards for quality and infection control. A new device was also purchased in the catheterization room in the interventional radiology unit with high-quality specifications, with funding from the Zakat Committee at Al-Demerdash Surgical Hospital and Nasser Bank. The gynecological endoscopy unit was also developed at the Women’s and Obstetrics Hospital and the Obstetrics and Gynecology Center. The training attached to it serves approximately 100 patients per month.
