A Russian Cultural Day at the Faculty of Al-Alsun

The Russian Language Department at the Faculty of Al-Alsun, at Ain Shams University, organized the Russian Cultural Day, under the patronage of Prof. Salwa Rashad, Dean of the Faculty, and supervised by Prof. Nasser Abdel-Al, Vice Dean of the Faculty for Education and Student Affairs, Prof. Ashraf Attia, Vice Dean for Postgraduate Studies and Research, Prof. Dina Muhammad Abdo, Head of the Department, in the presence of a large number of faculty staff, teaching assistants, and faculty students.

Where Prof. Ashraf Attia, Vice Dean of the Faculty for Studies and Research and Professor in the department, gave an opening speech, stressing the importance of holding cultural days for the countries whose language students are studying, pointing out that Russian culture has a peculiarity that distinguishes it from other cultures.

         
   
         

Also, Prof. Dina Muhammad Abdo, Head of the Department, stressed that holding the Cultural Day is a very important opportunity to discover the talents of the department’s students and work to strengthen them and practice the language in a different, desirable and attractive way outside the classroom and the curriculum.

The students of the Russian Language Department presented a variety of segments, where they recited poems by major Russian poets, played the flute and violin, as well as presented various songs in the Russian language and presented an interesting theatrical performance that they composed and performed using different decorations and clothes.

And Prof. Dina Muhammad, head of the department, accompanied by a number of department professors, honored the top academic years in the semester and credit programs for the academic year 2023, as well as the outstanding students in scientific and cultural activities, including Nour Sharqawi, president of the Student Union at the Faculty of Al-Alsun, Nour Ragab, who won first place in the essay competition at the Ain Shams University level and president of the Innovation Club, Maryam Tamer, who won first place for best actress at the university level, Shaima Shaaban, who won first place in music at the university level, and Bishoy Ayman, who won the title of ideal student at the faculty level.

The day concluded with a group of commemorative photos and a closing word from Prof. Dina Muhammad, who confirmed her intention to repeat the organization of such events every year in the Russian Language Department.
