The Faculty of Arts, at Ain Shams University, represented by the Education and Student Affairs Sector, organized a symposium entitled Ramadan, the Month of Investment, in which Dr. Mahmoud Al-Hawari, Assistant Secretary-General of the Islamic Research Academy, lectured, under the patronage of Prof. Mohamed Diaa Zain El-Abedeen, President of Ain Shams University, Prof. Ghada Farouk, Vice President of the University for Community Service and Environmental Development Affairs, Prof. Hanan Kamel Metwally, Dean of the Faculty of Arts, at Ain Shams University, under the supervision of Prof. Muhammad Ibrahim, Vice Dean of the Faculty for Education and Student Affairs.
The symposium was opened by Prof. Hanan Kamel, Dean of the Faculty, welcomed the attendees and said that it is a pleasure for us to have a spiritual meeting in the blessed month of Ramadan, especially since worship increases during it, and it is an opportunity for purifying souls and tolerance among people.
Dr. Mahmoud Al-Hawari, Assistant Secretary-General of the Islamic Research Academy, reviewed the topics of the symposium, which included the concept of investment, which is not only an economic concept, but rather a faith concept. He said that investment is based on realizing the available opportunities and making full use of them. Life is an irreplaceable opportunity. The Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, taught us about investing theoretically and practically, and it is the duty of young people to invest their lives in achieving faith and its requirements.
Then he referred to the story of our master Amr Ibn Al-Aas’s conversion to Islam and how he took advantage of the opportunity of his conversion to Islam and benefited from it to the fullest
When he went to the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, he said
I pledge allegiance to you, on the condition that I will be forgiven for my previous sins, and I will not remember what is later. So the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, said: O Amr, pledge allegiance, for Islam obligates what came before it, and immigration obligates what came before it. He said: So I pledged allegiance to him, then I left.)
Al-Hawari added that investing the month of Ramadan to perform acts of obedience is something enjoined by the Messenger of God, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him, and he described it as a great and blessed month, because Ramadan is a season of great profit that no one wastes except a loser, no one abstains from competing in it except one who is helpless, and no one deprives of its bounty except one who is wretched... and this is Greatness and that blessing must be traveled to, and conditions and circumstances must be arranged for it. Our beloved Messenger, may God bless him and grant him peace, longed for it, waited for it, and prayed to God to extend his life until he reached it. He used to give good news to the honorable companions of his arrival and encourage them to compete in it so that they would be among those whom the Lord of Glory would boast about and the angels would celebrate in the high heavens. He, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him, would say: “Ramadan has come to you, a month of blessings in which God will cover you and send down mercy, erase sins, and answer prayers. God Almighty looks at your competition in it.
For this reason, it is necessary to prepare and plan well to take advantage of the month of Ramadan and seize this great opportunity.
He concluded the meeting by sending a message to the attendees, saying: Renew your life... You are the one who created your ideas, and I make sweet juice from the salty lemon.
