The Vice President of Ain Shams University chaired the meeting of the committee formed to develop mechanisms to attract international students

Headed by Prof. Ghada Farouk, Vice President of Ain Shams University for Community Service and Environmental Development Affairs and Acting Vice President of the University for Graduate Studies and Research, a meeting of the committee was held to develop a mechanism to attract international students and discuss the procedures followed and facilitate them.

This came in the presence of Prof. Sherweit El-Ahmady, Director International Students and Mobility Office, and the Vice Deans of the Faculties for Postgraduate Studies and Research Affairs: Prof. Hiyam Wahba, Vice Dean of the College of Commerce, Prof. Yassin Al-Shazly, Vice Dean of the Faculty of Law, Prof. Abdel Nasser Muhammad, Vice Dean of the Faculty of Education, Prof. Rehab Othman, Vice Dean of the Faculty of Pharmacy for Education and Student Affairs, Prof. Rania Salah El-Din, Vice Dean of the Faculty of Medicine for Education and Student Affairs, Mr. Muhammad Al-Khatib, Assistant Secretary of the University for Postgraduate Studies and Research Affairs at the University.

         
   
         

Prof. Ghada Farouk confirmed the university’s keenness to provide a distinguished environment for international students, ensure that their needs are met, and facilitate their academic experience in Egypt and at the university.

She praised the work of the committee and the sector, which work to follow up and implement the proposed improvements and provide regular reports on the level of services and the extent to which the needs of international students are met, in an effort by the university to achieve academic excellence and provide a stimulating educational environment for all students.

During the meeting, Prof. Sherweit El-Ahmady presented the numbers of international students at the university level during the past four years and a statement showing the numbers of applications for enrollment on the Study in Egypt platform for the postgraduate stage for international students for the academic year 2023/2024, explaining the noticeable increase in it, and discussed the factors and procedures that led to the increase in international students, such as supporting them academically and psychologically.

         
   
         

The meeting included presenting some decisions related to the workflow of the university’s international student care system, listing the most important obstacles facing international students, discussing these problems and ways to overcome them, developing policies and marketing mechanisms to attract international students, and faculty proposals in this regard.

Some petitions from international students at the faculties were also presented, and the committee also discussed the latest proposals to attract international students as a marketing effort for programs and faculties, through promotional videos and distance learning programs, in addition to honoring students and inviting cultural attachés.
