The first day of the 12th Scientific Conference of Ain Shams University witnessed a special session on international partnerships in the field of business, under the patronage of Prof. Mohamed Diaa, President of Ain Shams University, and Prof. Ghada Farouk, Vice President of Ain Shams University for Community Service and Environmental Development Affairs.
Under the chairmanship of Prof. Hussein Essa, former President of Ain Shams University and former Chairman of the Planning and Budget Committee of the House of Representatives, Prof. Hayam Wahba, Vice Dean of the Faculty of Business for Postgraduate Studies and Research, and in the presence of Dr. Stephane Moutier, Deputy Director of the Institute for Partnership Management and Director of International Relations at the University of Poitiers, France, and Dr. Eman Abdel Salam, Coordinator of the French Department at the Faculty.
Prof. Hussein Essa explained the importance of partnerships with international institutions abroad and at home and their role in developing society and providing proposed solutions to existing problems. He stressed the necessity of integration and partnership between industry and universities.
Dr. Stephane Moutier referred to the extent of the success of the partnership between the University of Poitiers in France and Ain Shams University represented by the Faculty of Commerce, and the proposed development during the coming period of the partnership.
Prof. Hayam Wahba, Vice Dean of the Faculty of Business for Graduate Studies and Research, stressed the importance of partnership between the university, universities, and community institutions, whether in the field of research, training, or scientific dissertations in university classification, and reviewed the success of many partnership programs, including the partnership with the American University of Chicago and the Sawiris Foundation.
Dr. Eman Abdel Salam reviewed the success of the French program over a period of 25 years and the extent of its impact on the success of graduates and faculty staff at the faculty.
Focusing on the importance of building alliances between universities and business organizations at home and abroad, so that universities are the research arm of those organizations, moving towards international partnerships and alliances in the field of joint research and innovative research that suits a multicultural environment, was among the most important recommendations at the session.
