The Sheikh Zayed Book Award opens nominations for its nineteenth session 2024-2025
The Sheikh Zayed Book Award, organized by the Abu Dhabi Center for the Arabic Language, announced the opening of nominations for its nineteenth session 2024-2025.
This award is considered one of the most prestigious literary awards, organized by the Abu Dhabi Arabic Language Center with the support and sponsorship of the Department of Culture and Tourism in Abu Dhabi.
It is awarded to creative thinkers, publishers and young people for their contributions in the fields of writing and translation in the human sciences, which have a clear impact in enriching cultural, literary and social life according to scientific and objective standards.
The award receives entries in 10 different branches: literature, translation, development and state building, Arab culture in other languages, children’s and young people’s literature, manuscript editing, arts and critical studies, young author, cultural personality of the year, and publishing and cultural techniques.
The criteria for applying to the branches of the award depend on several conditions, including that the candidate has the right to submit only one work for one of its branches, provided that the work has not been nominated for any other award, either personally or on behalf, during the same year, and that the nominated literary work must contain an international numbering (ISBN), in order to guarantee intellectual property rights, while the award is not granted to a work that has previously won another Arab or international award. It is permissible to re-nominate the award for the same work, provided that it fulfills the time period requirement and submits new copies of the work.
