As part of the ongoing efforts to enhance health awareness among members of the university community, the Faculty of Arts at Ain Shams University organized comprehensive awareness activities on the importance of early detection of diabetes, in cooperation with the Faculty’s Medical Center and the University Administration, which provided all the facilities required for the examination, under the patronage of Prof. Mohamed Diaa Zain El-Abedeen, President of the University, Prof. Ghada Farouk, Vice President of the University for Community Service and Environmental Development Affairs, Prof. Hanan Kamel, Dean of the Faculty, and under the supervision of Prof. Hanan Salem, Vice Dean of the Faculty for Community Service and Environmental Development Affairs.
The events included a range of activities, including explaining the symptoms of diabetes and how to diagnose it early, and free blood sugar testing services were provided to summer semester students, workers, employees and visitors from the faculties on campus, providing an opportunity for early detection for the largest number of beneficiaries.
Prof. Hanan Salem, Vice Dean of the Faculty for Community Service and Environmental Development, stressed that "early detection of diabetes is a vital step in protecting the health of individuals and society as a whole, and it is imperative that we all be aware of the risks of this disease and how to deal with it.
On the other hand, the college's vice dean praised the participants in organizing the event, adding that they benefited from the valuable information provided during the event, stressing the importance of continuing such health initiatives.
This event comes within a series of activities that the Faculty of Arts seeks to provide to promote public health and raise awareness about chronic diseases.
