Ain Shams University is among the top 700 universities in the world according to the Shanghai World University Rankings and second locally

Ain Shams University, headed by Prof. Mohamed Diaa Zain El Abedeen, maintained its ranking among the top 700 universities in the world according to the prestigious Shanghai Ranking, for the second year in a row, as the university obtained the 601-700 ranking and the second place among Egyptian universities, according to the ranking issued in August 2024, after it succeeded in reaching the top 601: 700 universities around the world in 2023 after being in the top 701: 800 universities around the world in 2022.

Prof. Mohamed Diaa Zain El-Abedeen, President of the University, confirmed the university administration's endeavor to top international rankings and work according to a specific strategy that is consistent with the strategy of the Egyptian state seeking to advance in international rankings and provide international-level study programs and partnerships with various international universities.

His Excellency also indicated the university administration's interest in working hard to provide the appropriate climate for researchers and international publishing and adopting faculty members' research and supporting them at the highest level.

Prof. Ghada Farouk, Vice President for Community Service and Environmental Development and Acting Vice President for Graduate Studies and Research, added that the university administration always seeks to raise the quality of joint research and record a large number of citations, thus enjoying a greater opportunity to publish in high-impact journals, in addition to supporting investment in academic research and linking it to industry, development plans and community needs, and enhancing partnership with various sectors, through a stimulating and supportive environment for excellence and innovation in science and technology. It is worth noting that the Shanghai classification is based on several indicators, including: the university graduates or one of its researchers receiving the Nobel Prize, the rate of international publication in prestigious journals Nature and Science, as well as international publication in journals indexed in the Clarivare database.
