The activities of the first conference of the Diabetes and Endocrinology Unit at the Faculty of Medicine, Ain Shams University, will begin tomorrow, over the course of Wednesday and Thursday, September 4 and 5, 2024. The conference will witness the attendance of the most prominent endocrinologists, researchers and healthcare workers from all over Egypt, with the aim of discussing the latest developments in the fields of endocrinology and diabetes. 

The conference is held under the patronage of Prof. Mohamed Diaa Zain El-Abedeen, President of Ain Shams University, Prof. Ali El-Anwar, Dean of the Faculty of Medicine and Chairman of the Board of Directors of Hospitals, and Prof. Tarek Maged, Head of the Departments of Internal Medicine, and under the supervision and coordination of the conference chair, Prof. Salwa Siddek, Head of the Endocrinology Unit. 

The conference aims to enhance cooperation, innovation and knowledge exchange among experts in this field, as prominent speakers from various specialties will participate, including intensive care, gynecology, radiology, and immunology. 

 The conference covers several main topics, including developments in the treatment of diabetes, blood lipids and obesity, in addition to discussing various diseases associated with the endocrine glands. 

Topics also include the complex interaction between obesity and diabetes, complications of diabetes and ways to prevent them, pituitary gland disorders, thyroid diseases, as well as adrenal gland disorders and exploring ways to treat them.
