The "Psychological Counseling for Imams and Preachers" course, organized by the Faculty of Arts in collaboration with the Ministry of Endowments, concluded at Ain Shams University. The course lasted for three days and featured lectures by a distinguished group of professors in psychology and sociology. It was held under the patronage of Prof. Dr. Mohamed Diaa Zain El-Abidin, the University President; Prof. Dr. Ghada Farouk, Vice President for Community Service and Environmental Development; and Prof. Dr. Hanan Kamel, Dean of the Faculty. The course was coordinated and supervised by Prof. Dr. Hanan Salem, Vice Dean for Community Service and Environmental Development.
During the closing ceremony, Prof. Dr. Ghada Farouk praised Prof. Dr. Khaled Salah, Deputy Minister of Endowments, for attending the course’s conclusion. She also invited him to expand the fields of cooperation on various levels, through visits to newly developed facilities and by conducting more awareness courses for university students, to be delivered by imams and preachers.
Prof. Dr. Hanan Kamel, the Dean of the Faculty, thanked those who organized the course and the faculty members who lectured. She requested a survey for the trainees to evaluate the lectures they received and identify future training needs.
Prof. Dr. Khaled Salah, Deputy Director of the Cairo Endowments Directorate, praised the organization and success of the course, describing it as one of the most successful he had attended. He also welcomed broader cooperation with the university.
Prof. Dr. Hanan Salem, Vice Dean for Community Service and Environmental Development, explained that the "Psychological Counseling" course helps imams and preachers develop balanced personalities capable of handling various people and situations with flexibility and understanding. This course is a new and important contribution to the Ministry of Endowments, known for its leadership in preparing distinguished cadres of imams and female preachers to serve the nation and the Arab and Islamic worlds by spreading the correct teachings of religion and promoting moderate thought to protect the youth amid global changes.
She also noted that several factors contributed to the course’s success, including the Ministry of Endowments' commitment to performance improvement, the support of Ain Shams University and the Faculty of Arts' leadership, and the hard-working teams in the various departments of the faculty. She expressed her gratitude to everyone who contributed to the course's success.
During the closing ceremony, Prof. Dr. Khaled Salah, Deputy Minister of Endowments, honored Prof. Dr. Ghada Farouk, Prof. Dr. Hanan Kamel, Prof. Dr. Hanan Salem, and Prof. Dr. Mohamed Ibrahim, Vice Dean for Education and Student Affairs.
Additionally, Prof. Dr. Ghada Farouk honored Prof. Dr. Mohamed Khattab, Chair of the Psychology Department, for his efforts during his tenure as Head of the Psychological Service Unit and Psychological Clinic. Certificates were also awarded to the imams and female preachers.
