The council reviewed the preparations for the new academic year 2024-2025 and the completion of student admissions through electronic coordination, which has reached nearly 40,000 students to date, in addition to about 20,000 students accepted through the electronic transfer platform. A survey was conducted, and the results were very satisfactory to students and parents regarding the performance and services provided.
The council also reviewed the renewal of scholarship agreements and protocols (Sawiris, USAID, Petroleum Refining) and the allocation of scholarships for STEAM students. Furthermore, the brochures and booklets outlining the admission requirements for the university's programs were updated and distributed at higher education fairs, which contributed to an increase in early application for programs such as those in the Faculty of Computers and Information, Medicine, Languages, and others.
Reports were completed for many academic and administrative regulations, such as suspension of registration, the regulation for the Faculty of Specific Education, the regulation for the Specific Education Program, and the regulation for the Bachelor of Laws program in English under the credit hour system, among others.
The council reviewed the activities that took place during the opening of coordination labs, which received approximately 25,000 students for coordination in the general secondary and equivalent stages. A lab was made available specifically for students with special needs, providing all necessary comforts for them in the Faculties of Arts and Computers and Information.
Prof. Mona Abdel Aal, Director of the Education Development Department, explained the activation of the electronic book system for the university’s faculties through the ASU2 Learn platform.
The council was also informed about the topics that were approved by delegation from the President of the University during the period when the University Council was not in session, and the minutes of the permanent committee’s meeting held on July 10, 2024, were ratified.
