An orientation meeting for new students at the Faculty of Arts

The Faculty of Arts at Ain Shams University organized an orientation meeting for new students for the 2024-2025 academic year, to introduce them to the faculty’s departments and programs. The event was held under the patronage of Prof. Mohamed Diaa Zain El-Abedeen, President of the University, Prof. Hanan Kamel Metwally, Dean of the Faculty, and supervised by Prof. Mohamed Ibrahim, Vice Dean for Education and Student Affairs. The event was attended by Prof Hanan Salem, Vice Dean for Community Service and Environmental Development, and coordinated by Ms. Soha El-Sebaei, Director of the Youth Welfare Department, with the organization of the Faculty of Arts Student Union, headed by student Helmy Ahmed.

At the beginning of the meeting, Prof. Hanan Kamel, the Dean of the Faculty, welcomed the new students joining the faculty. She pointed out that the meeting aimed to provide students with a comprehensive explanation of the faculty’s programs, study methods, and the various fields and academic opportunities it offers, helping them choose specializations that match their abilities and align with their interests. She also emphasized assisting them in navigating their studies in the best possible way and addressing their inquiries through the department heads.

         
   
         

The Dean encouraged the students to work hard and diligently in acquiring knowledge and to try to develop diverse skills while benefiting from the various activities that contribute to shaping the graduate’s character.

Prof. Dr. Mohamed Ibrahim, Vice Dean for Education and Student Affairs, praised the parents and students for their keen interest in attending the event. He noted that the faculty's unique vision distinguishes it from other faculties.

He also expressed his gratitude to the Youth Welfare Department for their dedication in organizing these seminars, which include a range of advice to help new students with the first steps of their university journey
