The Faculty of Al-Alsun celebrates the Graduation of the batch of 2024

The Faculty of Al-Alsun ​​​​at Ain Shams University organized the graduation ceremony of the batch of 2023/2024, under the auspices of Prof. Mohamed Diaa Zain El-Abedeen, President of the University, Prof. Ghada Farouk, Vice President of the University for Community Service and Environmental Development Affairs, Prof. Salwa Rashad, Dean of the Faculty, and the supervision of Prof. Yomna Safwat, Vice Dean of the Faculty for Community Service and Environmental Development Affairs, and Prof. Reem Al-Kabariti, Director of the Alumni Association at the University.

In the presence of Prof. Saleh Hashem, former President of the University, and former President of the Association of Arab Universities, Prof. Makarem Al-Ghamry, former Dean of the Faculty of Al-Alsun ​​​​, Prof. Abdel-Masih Semaan, former Vice Dean of the Faculty of Environmental Studies and Rapporteur of the Standing Committee at the University and Rapporteur of the Environment and Geography Committee at the Supreme Council of Culture.

   
   

During her opening speech, Prof. Salwa Rashad, Dean of the Faculty, stressed that the graduation day is the reaping of the fruits of the efforts of the past four years. The Faculty was keen to nourish the minds of its students not only in their studies but also in everything that serves their future in general. The Faculty of Al-Alsun ​​is the garden of knowledge and the bridge of culture that was established in the era of the Egyptian Renaissance by the pioneer of enlightenment, Rifa’a al-Tahtawi, in 1835.

She continued her speech, pointing out that the faculty has struggled over the years to keep up with progress and development in light of the vision of the faculty, the university and the Egyptian state, where it has taken several measures in this regard, where it has developed its programs and linked them to the needs of the labor market, including establishing eight new programs in written and simultaneous translation and specialized translation at the undergraduate level to enrich the knowledge base between the Arabic language and foreign languages ​​in various fields such as media, commerce, economics and others.

At the level of qualifying students for the labor market, the faculty provided field training and concluded cooperation protocols with various governmental and other training and employment agencies, including training at the National Center for Translation and the Information Authority and translation training in cooperation with the United Nations.

   
   

The faculty also, through the Graduates Follow-up and Vocational Training Unit, in cooperation with the Alumni Association and the University Employment Center, takes care of graduates, prepares them for the labor market, and directs them to available job opportunities and jobs in light of employment forums and databases prepared by companies and various employers.

During her speech, Prof. Yomna Safwat, Vice Dean for Community Service and Environmental Development Affairs, stressed that the students of the Faculty of Al-Alsun ​​at Ain Shams University did not only learn the language; but also the cultures and history of the peoples of the world, which qualifies them to be true ambassadors of knowledge and understanding between nations.

She pointed out that the activities carried out by the students of the Faculty of Al-Alsun ​​over the four years contributed to applying what they learned in the lecture halls and contributed to making a positive change in the lives of others. They also learned about the needs of the labor market and developed the skills required to enter various fields of work.

While Prof. Reem Al-Kabariti, Director of the Alumni Association at the University, confirmed the continuous communication of the Alumni Association with the faculty, reviewing the role of the Alumni Associations that were established 4 years ago at the university, in order to communicate and transfer experiences between graduates and the university, as the Association was keen to provide free training courses in addition to employment forums, holding forums for all departments in the faculty to transfer experiences continuously from graduates to students, in addition to transferring models of success such as the meeting of Prof. Farouk El-Baz, in addition to the Association’s role in holding graduate celebrations for most faculties, in addition to issuing a card for graduates that gives them discounts in several fields.
