Within the "Bedaya" initiative, Ain Shams University's comprehensive development convoy for the people of Shalateen, Hala'ib and Abu Ramad provides its services to more than ten thousand citizens in four days

Within the presidential initiative, a new beginning for building the human being, and under the auspices of Major General Staff Officer. Dr. Amr Mohamed Hanafi, Governor of the Red Sea, Prof. Mohamed Diaa Zain El-Abedeen, President of Ain Shams University, and Prof. Ghada Farouk, Vice President of the University for Community Service and Environmental Development Affairs, the University's Community Service and Environmental Development Affairs Sector, in cooperation with the Red Sea Health Directorate and the Red Crescent Society, organized a comprehensive medical convoy to serve the people of Shalateen, Halaib and Abu Ramad to provide comprehensive and free medical care to the residents of Shalateen and the surrounding areas.

The convoy's activities continued for four days, providing its services to more than ten thousand beneficiaries from its various medical, awareness and social axes.

         
   
         

The medical axis included a number of clinics in various specialties, including: internal medicine, obstetrics and gynecology, pediatrics, nose and ear, dermatology, orthopedics, ophthalmology, psychology and neurology, heart, surgery, chest, urology, dentistry, radiology, in addition to a laboratory and a pharmacy that provides free pharmaceutical services, in addition to performing a number of surgeries inside Shalateen Central Hospital.

During the four days, the convoy provided free examination and treatment services to a large number of residents, as the number of cases benefiting from the clinics reached 3650 cases and 44 cases underwent surgical operations, and medical cases requiring greater medical intervention were transferred to Ain Shams University hospitals, as part of the university's commitment to providing health care to the community.

         
   
         

The awareness axis of the convoy included implementing ten different awareness campaigns in middle and high schools and the Nursing Institute, attended by more than 400 students. The campaigns covered various topics aimed at raising awareness among students, spreading the spirit of loyalty and belonging, and developing their various skills, including: the importance of preserving moral values ​​and their role in building society, the dangers of illegal immigration, the art of anger management, healthy habits to prevent diseases, and the art of dealing with patients to improve the quality of health services.

Regarding the community services axis, food aid was provided to the residents of the three regions in coordination with the Ministry of Social Solidarity, the Social Affairs Authority in the Red Sea Governorate, and the Egyptian Red Crescent Society, where food aid was provided to citizens in a total of 7,000 cartons and (500 blankets) were distributed in coordination with the Social Affairs Authority to be delivered to the residents.

The convoy was supervised by Prof. Hala Samir Sweid, Vice Dean of the Faculty of Medicine for Community and Environmental Affairs, and Prof. Tarek Youssef, Executive Director of Ain Shams University Hospitals, and technical supervision by Major General Hossam El-Sherbiny, Assistant Secretary-General of the University for Community and Environmental Affairs.

Prof. Mohamed Diaa Zain El-Abedeen, President of Ain Shams University, confirmed the university's participation in the "Bedaya" initiative, based on its social responsibility and with the aim of providing integrated services to improve the standard of living in all parts of our country and contribute to supporting needy families.

Prof. Ghada Farouk, Vice President of the University for Community Service and Environmental Development Affairs, also pointed out the continuation of organizing comprehensive development convoys to serve the people of Halayeb, Shalateen and Abu Ramad, as this convoy is the ninth convoy organized by the sector with the support of the university administration over the past years.

Prof. Ghada Farouk explained that this convoy represents the second convoy within the framework of the "Bedaya" initiative, noting that the university's future plan includes organizing a number of other convoys targeting different areas to meet the needs of the neediest families and provide the necessary support in various fields.
