Baseera Foundation participates in the second day of the comprehensive campaign to raise awareness of the rights of persons with disabilities at Ain Shams University

In continuation of Ain Shams University's efforts to raise awareness of the rights of individuals with visual impairments and to provide a practical experience highlighting the challenges they face daily, and under the auspices of Prof. Mohamed Diaa Zain El-Abedeen, President of the University, the Education and Student Affairs Sector, in collaboration with the Center for Services for Students with Disabilities and the “For Egypt” family, supported by the "Basira" Foundation, organized a variety of interactive activities and events dedicated to students with visual impairments. The aim was to create an inclusive educational and social environment that empowers visually impaired students, enhances their self-confidence, and encourages them to engage in sports as a fundamental right.

The "Baseera" Foundation seeks to assist individuals with visual impairments in achieving their personal potential, thereby enhancing their independence and contributing to their integration into society.

The events included activities targeting both visually impaired and sighted students, offering practical training, motivational games, and training sessions in goalball. Students with visual impairments and sighted students participated while wearing black glasses to simulate the conditions faced by those who are blind. Participants experienced varying degrees of visual impairment, from complete blindness to partial vision or remnants of sight. Additionally, several motivational games were included to emphasize the importance of visual stimulation for those with low vision.

Goalball is a sport specifically designed for the visually impaired, relying on the sense of hearing to guide players. The ball contains a bell that produces sound when it moves.

The training and games received widespread engagement from students, who expressed their appreciation for the experience that allowed them to understand the realities faced by individuals with visual impairments and the importance of creating supportive environments to enhance their independence and integration into society.
