Ain Shams University Education Sector Completes “You Are Stronger Than Drugs” Seminar Series in a Seminar at the Faculty of Arts

In continuation of the series of seminars organized by the Education and Students Sector at Ain Shams University, represented by the University Student Union, in cooperation with the Anti-Addiction Fund, a seminar was held at the Faculty of Arts under the title "You are Stronger than Drugs" under the auspices of Prof. Mohamed Diaa Zain El-Abedeen, President of the University, and coordinated by Prof. Hanan Kamel, Dean of the Faculty of Arts.

The seminar was opened by Prof. Mohamed Ibrahim, Vice Dean of the Faculty for Education and Students Affairs, by welcoming the guests and expressing his happiness with what the university in general and the Faculty of Arts in particular are offering in terms of spreading awareness of the dangers of drugs and the university system's keenness on the future of its youth.

The seminar discussed the dangers of the phenomenon of drug addiction and its consequences on the individual and society. The role of the Anti-Addiction and Treatment Fund and its departments and its role in treatment and social rehabilitation represented in preventive programs and the hotline for treatment and social rehabilitation, number 16023, was also highlighted.

The seminar was attended by Dr. Rasha Mohamed Rashad, a researcher at the Anti-Addiction and Treatment Fund under the Prime Minister's Office and the Coordinator of Preventive Programs at the University, Dr. Mohamed Mustafa Mohamed, Toxicology Expert at the Forensic Medicine Authority.

The symposium emphasized the importance of the family's role as the first line of defense to protect its children from drugs, through understanding the nature of the problem, understanding primary prevention methods, early detection methods, and knowing the nature of its role in treatment and rehabilitation in the event that one of its members becomes addicted to drugs, in addition to the role of various media outlets in combating drug abuse through awareness spaces dedicated to the dangers of this phenomenon and its consequences on the individual and society.
