The Ministry of Higher Education launches the "Best University for Student Activities" competition 2024/2025

The Student Activities Sector, after the approval of the Supreme Council of Universities, has announced the launch of the "Best University for Student Activities" competition for the academic year 2024/2025, under the patronage of Dr. Mohamed Ayman Ashour, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research.

The competition aims to enhance the role of student activities in shaping the personalities of university students and to support the development of their personal and social skills. This, in turn, contributes to deepening the sense of loyalty and belonging among university youth.

Additionally, the competition aims to create an aware generation capable of facing future challenges and actively contributing to their society.

Dr. Mustafa Rafaat, Secretary-General of the Supreme Council of Universities, stated that the competition was launched in line with the Supreme Council’s (Student Affairs and Education Sector) commitment to implementing the principles and objectives of the National Strategy for Higher Education and Scientific Research 2030. He emphasized the importance of student activities in shaping students' personalities and reinforcing their national identity.

Dr. Kareem Hammam, Advisor to the Minister of Higher Education for Student Activities, emphasized that the competition aims to motivate universities to improve and develop student activities by creating an educational environment characterized by creativity and active participation.

He noted that the competition aligns with the ministry's goals of enhancing student participation in community and scientific activities, which helps prepare a generation capable of engaging with global and local challenges.

The "Best University for Student Activities" competition is a distinguished initiative based on a set of key criteria that evaluate student activities in Egyptian universities and strengthen their role in achieving comprehensive development.

These criteria include aligning activities with the National Higher Education Strategy to ensure consistency with national plans, developing financial resources through proposals and ideas to support activities, and measuring the role of student training centers in implementing simulation models and supporting activities.

The competition also evaluates the extent of student participation and involvement in activities within universities and colleges, as well as participation in national and international activities. Special attention is given to supporting activities for students with disabilities and recognizing universities' efforts in this area. Additionally, activities that contribute to community service, environmental development, and national loyalty are highly valued.

The competition also measures student satisfaction with the activities offered through surveys designed to collect feedback and improve the university experience.

The process for submitting documentation of student activities involves several steps aimed at comprehensively and innovatively documenting the activities. An electronic magazine containing all activities, documented with photos and videos, must be submitted on a flash drive, along with a printed magazine detailing all executed activities, not exceeding 200 pages. The magazine design must align with each university's visual identity. An electronic platform is provided for uploading digital magazines and all related events and documentation at the designated link.

The competition encourages universities to prepare unconventional documentation materials, including documentaries and videos showcasing various student activities and participation, including those involving students with disabilities. It also highlights the importance of universities applying the National Strategy for Higher Education and Scientific Research (Alliance and Development) by participating in activities that contribute to regional alliances between universities and promote cooperation and innovation in all fields.

The "Best University for Student Activities" competition is a valuable opportunity to strengthen the role of student activities in Egyptian universities and support the provision of a comprehensive educational environment that helps graduate a generation of creative students capable of addressing future challenges.
