Under the patronage of Prof. Mohamed Diaa Zain El-Abedeen, President of Ain Shams University, Prof. Ghada Farouk, Vice President for Community Service and Environmental Development Affairs, and within the framework of cooperation with the Faculty of Law, at Ain Shams University, headed by Prof. Mohamed Safi, Dean of the Faculty, and the Faculty of Mass Communication held a symposium for its members to develop the legal awareness of faculty staff and teaching assistants at the faculty, in the presence of Prof. Heba Shaheen, Dean of the Faculty of Mass Communication, and Prof. Salwa Soliman, Vice Dean of the Faculty for Education and Student Affairs.
Dr. Karim Ahmed Abdel Fattah Wali El-Din, lecturer in the Public Law Department at the Faculty of Law, at Ain Shams University, lectured at the workshop, in a meeting that included faculty staff and teaching assistants at the Faculty of Mass Communication and the officials of the Faculty’s Legal Affairs Department, Mr. Hamdi El-Zeiny and Mr. Ahmed Samir.
The symposium included several topics, including: defining the Universities Regulation Law No. 49 of 1972 and its procedures, university administrative structures, university councils and committees, and faculties, the most important specializations of each, and their relationship to each other. His Excellency highlighted the most important rights and duties of faculty staff and teaching assistants, and also addressed the causes and procedures for disciplinary accountability for faculty staff, teaching assistants, and students in accordance with university laws, regulations, and traditions.
The symposium activities concluded by answering the inquiries of the attending faculty staff and teaching assistants, and honoring Dr. Karim Ahmed Abdel Fattah Wali El-Din, in appreciation of his efforts in providing legal expertise to faculty staff and teaching assistants at the Faculty of Mass Communication.
