Ain Shams University organizes a training workshop on preparing and implementing the program and performance budgeting in universities

Prof. Dr. Mohamed Diaa Zein El-Abidin, President of Ain Shams University, received Dr. Mohamed El-Sobky, Advisor to the Minister of Finance and Supervisor of the Program and Performance Budgeting Unit at the Ministry, prior to the training workshop organized by the Ministry of Finance in cooperation with Ain Shams University on preparing and implementing the program and performance budgeting at the university.

This came in the presence of Mr. Wael Fathy Afifi, Executive Director of the Program and Performance Budgeting Unit at the Ministry of Finance, and Prof. Mohamed Hassan Abdel Majeed, Professor of Accounting and Cost Management at the Faculty of Business.

         
   
         

The training workshop was held under the supervision of Major General Ahmed Lashin, Secretary General of the University, and in the presence of the Directors General of the departments concerned with the General Administration and the representatives of the Ministry of Finance in the faculties and the officials responsible for implementing the program and performance budgeting in the faculties with accounting units and hospitals.

The workshop aims to develop the skills of university employees and enhance their capabilities in preparing and implementing budgets according to the latest financial methods, which contributes to achieving the vision of the Egyptian state 2030 and achieving the goals of sustainable development to improve performance in the university sector and obtain a distinguished graduate according to the latest scientific standards.

       
   
       

The workshop targeted the program and performance budgeting work plan for the Education Department - Ain Shams University) for the fiscal year 2024/2025; where the division of the program and performance budgeting for the Education Department at the university was explained into four main programs, which are:

Availability Program, Quality Program, which includes improving the quality of the educational system in line with international systems, Competitiveness Program to improve the competitiveness of education systems and outcomes, and finally the Scientific Research Program, in addition to a group of sub-programs and activities that serve the goal of the main program.

The participants praised the importance of the workshop and the vital role it plays in raising their administrative and financial efficiency, which enhances Ain Shams University’s efforts to achieve academic and administrative excellence. The attendees praised the detailed explanation by the Ministry of Finance group, promising to repeat the workshop to explain the developments in the program and performance budgeting and how to apply it to link the university’s programs to actual performance indicators.
