The Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research launched a competition under the slogan "Together" directed at students of Egyptian universities and institutes, aiming to produce visual content that contributes to confronting abnormal and extremist ideas.
The competition is sponsored by Dr. Ayman Ashour, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, within the framework of the ministry's comprehensive strategy and in light of the efforts made to confront abnormal ideas that contradict the tolerant religious beliefs and the authentic cultural and societal heritage of the Egyptian people.
Within the framework of the great interest that the Ministry pays to building a sound personality among young people, deepening their sense of loyalty and belonging, protecting them against abnormal and destructive ideas, and preparing an aware generation capable of building and creativity, the Student Activities Sector, in cooperation with the Leadership Preparation Institute, took the initiative to launch this competition that aims to involve students in creating purposeful creative content.
The conditions for participating in the competition include the following:
• Students produce one video that does not exceed one minute in length and its size does not exceed 100 MB.
• The video must be original and inspired by the students' imagination, so that it does not include any clips taken from the Internet. If this is proven, the video will be excluded from the competition.
• The number of the film's production team does not exceed 5 students.
• The resolution of the participating video must not be less than (FULL HD).
• The work must be uploaded to the website designated for this purpose, with the necessity of including the name of the university and the names of the participating work team.
The submitted works must also focus on one of the following axes:
• Spreading the culture of tolerance and peaceful coexistence
• Social peace within society
• Strengthening the values of citizenship
• Enshrining the principles of moderation and balance
• Confronting misconceptions and extremist ideas
The competition started on December 29, 2024 and will continue until January 25, 2025. Applications for the competition are submitted through the website dedicated to the competition:

A specialized committee will be formed to evaluate the competing works by the Ministry of Higher Education and the Leadership Preparation Institute, and the winning students will be honored during the upcoming International Book Fair.
For his part, Dr. Karim Hamam, Advisor to the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research for Student Activities and Director of the Leadership Preparation Institute, stressed that this competition represents an important step in the path of building the character of the Egyptian university student and enhancing his intellectual and cultural awareness.
He added: "Immunizing the minds of our youth against extremist and destructive ideas is at the heart of our educational and teaching mission.
We believe that the university student is able to be a maker of awareness and a participant in shaping public opinion through his creativity and bright ideas.
This competition opens the way for students to express their vision in the face of false and extremist ideas, and enables them to contribute effectively to building a cohesive society based on the foundations of moderation and balance.
