Ain Shams University President Receives Omani Ambassador to Discuss Cultural Cooperation

Prof. Dr. Mohamed Diaa Zein El Abidin, President of Ain Shams University, received this morning His Excellency Ambassador Abdullah bin Nasser Al Rahbi, Ambassador of the Sultanate of Oman to the Arab Republic of Egypt, and his accompanying delegation, to discuss ways to enhance academic and cultural cooperation between the two sides, which would contribute to strengthening the historical relations between the two countries.

The meeting was attended from Ain Shams University by Prof. Ghada Farouk, Vice President for Community Service and Environmental Development, Prof. Sherweit El-Ahmady, Director of the Expatriates Department, Dr. Kamal Obaid, Director of the International Relations Department, and from the Sultanate of Oman by Dr. Mohamed Abdel Karim Al Shehhi, Cultural Advisor and Member of the Board of Trustees of Bait Al Zubair Foundation in the Sultanate of Oman, and Dr. Mona Habras, Director General of Bait Al Zubair Foundation.

During the meeting, Prof. Mohamed Diaa Zein El-Abedeen stressed the depth of the historical ties that unite Egypt and the Sultanate of Oman, pointing out Ain Shams University's keenness to expand the horizons of cooperation with Omani institutions in various academic and cultural fields, which would enhance exchange between the two countries. He added that cultural relations represent one of the main pillars for enhancing sustainability and intellectual and creative development, noting that art and culture play a pivotal role in strengthening relations between peoples, in addition to supporting the university's role in enlightenment and enriching the cultural movement.

For his part, His Excellency the Omani Ambassador expressed his appreciation for the pioneering role played by Ain Shams University in the fields of education and scientific research, and its constant keenness to support intellectual and cultural activities, noting that the Omani cultural cooperation with Ain Shams University opens new horizons for cultural and knowledge exchange, stressing that benefiting from the university's expertise will contribute to enriching the Omani cultural scene.

He expressed his aspiration to enhance aspects of joint cooperation with Ain Shams University in various fields as it is one of the oldest academic institutions in Egypt.
