Ain Shams University welcomes over 200,000 students in the second semester

Under the patronage of Prof. Mohamed Diaa Zain El-Abedeen, President of the University, the university is preparing to receive approximately 200,000 male and female students in the bachelor's and bachelor's degrees in the second semester of the academic year 2024-2025 according to the scheduled time plan, and within the framework of the strategy of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research.

The university has undertaken a package of intensive measures and preparations, with the aim of providing a distinguished educational environment that contributes to improving the students’ academic experience, through the education and students sector, where the faculties announced the study schedules for the second semester and notified the students of them through the faculties’ official website and their pages on social media sites for the different academic levels, and completed all preparations for the start of studies in the second semester.

The Education Development Department has also completed uploading the content of the courses for the electronic university book for the second semester (lectures, virtual lab experiments, virtual microscope slides), as well as registering students for the second semester courses on the university platform ASU2LEARN, completing the inclusion of questions in the question banks for the colleges, and completing the training plan for faculty staff on question banks and e-learning platforms.

Maintenance work on buildings, lecture halls, classrooms and laboratories has also been completed, and their structural efficiency has been confirmed. Urgent maintenance has also been carried out on all university dormitory facilities for male and female students, all external branches, the attached restaurants, the food departments and all restaurant halls in all sectors, and the readiness of university dormitories to receive international students starting from Friday, February 7, has been confirmed, and all necessary services have been provided, as well as security and cleaning services around the clock.

This is in addition to implementing a package of activities, events and educational seminars, encouraging students to participate in various competitions, and supporting innovative students with distinguished talents.

In this context, Prof. Mohamed Diaa Zain El-Abedeen, President of the University, directed the deans of faculties and vice deans to maintain continuous communication between students, faculty staff and administration, to solve any problems or difficulties that students may face and work to overcome them and find immediate solutions to any problem, and ensure the regularity of the educational process.

His Excellency also stressed the implementation of occupational health and safety procedures for all university employees, the completion of the comprehensive insurance process for all facilities, ensuring the activation of the surveillance camera system, placing signboards and regulating entry.

The second semester begins on Saturday, February 8, 2025, and studies continue for 16 weeks, ending on Thursday, May 29, 2025. Second semester exams will be held during June 2025, according to the nature of study and exams in each faculty.
